Glad he's conscious and able to sit and talk. Hopefully, he makes a full recovery and can come back strong but first things first in regards to getting healthy and evaluating his condition

Being able to travel back to Japan is at least a decent sign; if it was more serious, I imagine transoceanic travel would not be the best idea in the world.
Fingers crossed for the Time Bomb.

Still being coy about the extent of the injury but glad he's heading home though.

Wishing him all the best. Hopefully it's not a serious injury but even so I hope he takes more time off than he needs to so he can develop a slower paced style. X-Pac was having great matches on 98/99 post-injury. Austin had the best matches of his career in 2001. And Edge was performing at a high level for years after his neck surgery. Besides Takahashi doesn't really need to do anything high-risk, he's got an amazing character and deadpan goofy charisma that will carry him over for the most part even if he can't do the same stuff he did before last weekend.

One of my favorite guys in the business right now, I hope he makes full recovery. Maybe come back, adapt your style, bulk up a bit, go heavyweight. Either way, Hiromu, take all the time you need, we'll wait. Tick tick tick....

Either way, Hiromu, take all the time you need, we'll wait. Tick tick tick.... Heavyweight is still some years away as he is still the Ace of the Juniors and will be for a few years
But yeah adapt your style as he's very talented and his charisma will carry him forever

Yea, the biggest thing is adapting his style as he can still have very good matches
However, the clock is on once you do have that broken neck because it will linger for the rest of his career. Edge still had intense matches which probably cut the last 2 or 3 years of his career off and Austin seemed to never really take the full time to heal up once he did come back the injury

Considering they were able to take him to Japan and are calling it a neck injury and not a broken neck is a very good sign. This went from, he's done forever and lucky to be alive to how long will he be out very quickly. Still hope he adapts his style and learns from this.

I just saw the footage. I'm glad he's okay and all that. But seriously, Dragon Lee, don't ever do that move again.

Takahashi is amazing, but he has been riding his luck.
That spot however was too much. They clearly botched it, as Dragon Lee normally hits the bridge, but obviously it went wrong. Ospreay has been winding it down a bit recently, but still having great matches and I hope a Takahashi does the same.

Latest update seems to say Hiromu won't need surgery, which I can only assume is a good thing. He's clearly not going to work the G1 tour and I'm sure he'll be out longer than that, but I guess we'll see.

Well it sounds like he won't have to vacate the Jr Title as he's taking July and August off to recover.

Word around Twitter is that NJPW president Meij visited Hiromu recently to bring him wrestling to watch and his favorite pudding. He says Hiromu is his usual self despite the injury and called him cool for not distancing himself from wrestling while he's recovering.

Good. He doesn't need to even try to work the G1 tour when there's nothing on the line for him during it. I'm just relieved he's not paralyzed or severely injured.

Meltzer said Hiromu is still in the hospital and he doesn't think that is a good sign

As far as we can tell we don't really know if this is as bad as Honma and Shibata was. Shibata is done while it took Honma over a year to come back from his spinal injury
