Wow, I've read so many different articles and I don't understand the outrage if you consider the context of the statement. This reminds me of Netflix executive fired for mention it as one of the inappropriate words. As someone who has worked with a white supremacist for half a year before that idiots stupidity got him fired, this isn't even close to racism.. Maybe more will come out, but even a fine or suspension would be a stretch to me. The context is "Why am I getting heat when a guy who's been dead for four decades didn't get heat for saying racist stuff?" Dude tried to whatabout his way out of blaming black players being allowed to protest in the NFL for hurting his company's sales. It's terrible PR and being forced to step down was pretty much inevitable. No doubt he is using strange economics to explain declining sales, but being against those protests doesn't automatically mean he is a racist person. Anyway, it's difficult to talk about this issue without getting into politics unfortunately. Doesn't really affect me if the company is running or not, I just get tired of this mob mentality people have when someone utters a word in an inoffensive context. |

Papa John Cena's could have him on the box as one of those weird moving picture thingies where, depending on angle, he disappears. With him saying in a word bubble "You can't see me! (but you can smell this delicious pizza!)"
At least Cena has Italian heritage, so that already makes him less of a fraud than the other guy.

I just wanted to give a little PSA- if you have a local, non-chain pizza place near you please do yourself a favor and give them a try. Odds are their pizza isn't any more expensive than Papa John's or Pizza Hut and it's probably a whole lot better. Plus, you'll be supporting your local economy and helping to keep the little guy afloat.

I am not someone who simply writes off a person for saying one thing wrong. Having said that, f*** that guy. This is the same asshole who literally built a castle with a moat and then complained about having to spend money giving his employees health insurance. This is the same asshole that complained that he was by law being made to pay his employees more than he wanted to and then was heavily fined for stealing wages from those same employees. This was the same guy who blamed the NFL players for his company’s falling fortunes, despite the fact that the players’ protests did not even cause the NFL’s profits to go down. I can’t stand people who can’t own failures and blame others instead. Yeah, i’m long past done giving that guy the benefit of the doubt. |
