Sprouts are evil, broccoli is spot on.
The end.

Brussel sprouts are cabbage midgets....
And like Bobby Heenan said "Never trust a midget"

The taste of both does not appeal to me. If I am eating a green vegetable it is gonna be spinach or asparagus.

Boiling vegetables gave a lot of them a bad rap, due to awful textures, etc. Steamed vegetables are typically less gross.

I have always loved broccoli. Brussel Sprouts, I can do boiled but it's not terribly thrilling. Grilled or roasted, on the other hand, they are fantastic.
I love broccoli raw and most vegetables raw, tbh.

Roasted brussel sprouts are amazing. Can’t do them boiled.

Roasted brussel sprouts are amazing. Can’t do them boiled. Fried in either butter or a little bacon fat with a pinch of red pepper flakes.

Brussel Sprouts are one of those foods that you have to cook just right. Time is your enemy with them and if you overcook them just a little they get very bitter and disgusting. Unfortunately for most of the mid-20th Century the common practice with most vegetables was to boil the hell out of them.

Brussel sprouts is a hard pass for me. Broccoli especially steamed broccoli is one of the best foods ever. I always try to get steamed broccoli at a sit down restaurant if if I can.

I love both. I think it comes down to people not cooking them properly. Brussel sprouts and broccoli can both be pretty unappetizing if you just boil them and don't season them. I like to steam my broccoli or eat it raw with ranch dressing or tzatziki. I like to roast brussl sprouts with a little oil and lemon pepper. They get caramelized and tasty that way.

I do my brussel sprouts with a little olive oil, a shallot, bacon (or bacon bits), and some chili spices. Cook the sprouts for a few minutes until they get good and flexible and are just about to start wilting and serve. Almost like a warm salad. Absolutely delicious!

WHen I was little, my mother would boil broccoli and melt slices of American cheese over it, then try to get me to eat it. It was awful, and I've never forgiven her OR broccoli for it since. Never really been brave enough to try brussel sprouts.
