{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Did not expect Vadic or the Shryke to meet their ends here, but it's good that we have Troi getting more screen time as she now plays the most vital part in getting answers. I suppose next week will be devoted entirely to Jack's origin, I wonder just how much of it warrants a 50 minute run time? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I doubt the entire episode will be devoted to it. They've got two episodes left and there's still the mass infiltration of Changelings in Starfleet to address and stopping whatever their plan is. Judging from the preview provided by The Ready Room {Spoiler}They're still dragging the mystery out a bit, Troi is scared off by what's behind the door and she runs away from Jack

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}
My sister at Vadic during the episode: It’ll be so great when she’s thrown out of an airlock.
My sister at Vadic being thrown out of an airlock: 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 Outside of that, what an episode. A lot happened and the crazier thing is that more is going to happen with Frontier Day getting closer and closer.

Like Laas in the last season of DS9 was traveling as spaceborne entity when he first encountered Odo.

In regards to the spoilers {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Does anyone reckon they will cover their bases and find a way to explain the "Enterprise cannot be be salvaged" line from Generations?
If the Borg are being used again, it's probably best on a budgetary scale, they will be able to reuse the sets from prior seasons

If the Borg are being used again, it's probably best on a budgetary scale, they will be able to reuse the sets from prior seasons {Spoiler}Based on the commemorative plaque shown on screen in season two's opener we know the Enterprise-D saucer section has been at the fleet museum since shortly after the crash, so it makes sense that it was gradually made spaceworthy again in the 30 years that have passed so it can take on tourists. I'm sure Geordi will have a line about requisitioning a stardrive for the purposes of putting her on display, which seems reasonable given the Galaxy-class ships seem to have been retired from active service.

{Spoiler}Alice Krige is back as Queenie. In voice form, anyway.
Organic assimilation via transporters. Clever.
Shelby finally gets to command an Enterprise, and immediately dies.
f***, I had hoped Shaw would make it through. That's a real downer.
Carpet on starships feels right.

{Spoiler}Obvious real world reasons aside, it does seem odd that newer ships than the D like Defiant and Voyager are not considered for this. Voyager at least would have more experience with Borg than D, and could better maneuver. Unless the visible ships are stripped of functional systems or something, which is a maybe at best considering they took the cloak from the Bounty.
Also unless something is said in the finale, guess they're "noodle incident"ing the E's fate. And Worf reminiscing about the E's weapons over the D is interesting looking back at how despondent he was in "Way of the Warrior" at the loss of the D.

Unless the visible ships are stripped of functional systems or something, which is a maybe at best considering they took the cloak from the Bounty. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'm assuming that the ships at the Fleet Museum have basic life support for tours and manoeuvring thrusters to get them out of the hanger and into their display rings, but not a whole lot else.
Of course, that would beg the question why Geordi has spent two decades restoring the Enterprise-D, including weapons.
The implications of the episode are rather bleak. Potentially any legacy character from the TNG era still active within Starfleet may have just been killed.
Elnor, too, since he was assigned to the Excelsior.

I was howling with this one. Tears only stopped ten minutes ago {Spoiler}I mean, I SAW the leaked screen caps yesterday here, I said to myself, 'darn, now I won't tear up', but somehow I managed it. Non-stop for ten minutes, and boy did that milk that scene. The urgency of everything took such a step back so everyone could admire Geordie's hard work in reassembling her. Picard saying he 'missed the carpet' got to me, it triggered a funny old memory, I always admired that attention to detail the most whenever I played with my Enterprise-D micro playset as a kid.
Great retcon excuse for Picard's statement in Generations that the saucer couldn't be salvaged. Keeping there would have violated prime directives were it to be discovered.
OK, so it's the Borg again...but Alice Krige is back! They had to settle for a back-of-the-head shot for the Queen though. I assume now that Jack's swerved into the big bad, I wonder if he'll speak with Alice's voice and she possesses him?
"That wasn't my fault", Worf will now be played by Gene Snitzky.
The Dominion definitely have taken a back seat to the major threat now, their hand in the story explained and the Borg initiating the last phase of the plan.
Three big times I said 'f you' to the writers
-Involving Shelby and promoting her to command of the Enterprise F only to see her reduced to a damsel and fridged
-Involving a 'modern' Excelsior and then blowing it up off-screen
-Killing Shaw. KILLING SHAW, THE HELL TERRY? You have your potential Star Trek Legacy star right there!

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}At least it wasn't her first modern Trek appearance (and she went from Captain to Fleet Admiral in 20 years.

One issue: {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I think my only question was, where are the "good" Borgs? The ones that at the end of last season? Agnes Queen might have come in handy during this. Other than that it was a blast of an episode

Agnes Queen might have come in handy during this. Other than that it was a blast of an episode {Spoiler}If I were in the creative process for this, I would say due to all those Federation ships (they say all the fleet and while that is a massive grouping I'm not so sure if it's every starship) being called in like this, someone had to stay and watch that anomaly that formed in Season 2. Sure you could get some Vulcan ships to help out, but the Borg Cooperative as I call them are the main "keepers of the gate" as it were. Which leads to the Collective to be free to do what they do.
This is assuming nothing happens in Episode 10 that counteracts that point. Don't know, since despite it having aired in IMAX along with this episode, I haven't seen any spoilers for it.

Just seems to me having another Queen to counteract the other Queen and maybe disrupt things could be helpful.
Was a bit flummoxed by Crusher saying the borg hadn't been seen in a decade. Like, I guess she meant the evil borg but was still weird since we've technically seen the borg in every season of Picard now.

Like, I guess she meant the evil borg but was still weird since we've technically seen the borg in every season of Picard now. {Spoiler}To tie up that in my head canon way, and knowing things could change with anything from either Lower Decks or Prodigy, both set before Season 1 of Picard: -The Artifact came into Romulan space in the mid to late 2380s before it suffered the system crash from assimilating that one Romulan who went mad because of the ancient A.I. No Borg besides the xBs were seen since then until the Borg Cooperative. And everything that happened with the dormant drones reawakening and the Artifact's crash may not be that common of knowledge (Shaw mentioned the Cooperative, but didn't mention the Artifact. -Beverly might not be fully aware of that incident, since she was out and about elsewhere at the time. And like you say, even if she was, she might not consider the Cooperative as THE Borg. Just a loose splinter of them like that group Lore took over.
So if you take it as Borg as the big threat, then that incident that created The Artifact was a decade (and change but semantics) ago.

Also, one of my favorite undermentioned moments: {Spoiler}Data's line about the shuttles. Seven of Nine>The robot's right Data's face looking like "what did she call me?"

"What makes you think 'there' hasn't already been destroyed?"
"Data, could you try to be a little more positive?"
"I hope we die quickly."
As dark as the season has been, tonally, the moments of levity have been pitch perfect.
