Being a good worker and being a good person are not linked. Being a good worker doesn't mke you a good person and being a bad person doesn't make you a bad in ring talent.

All In was a self indulgent mess where a bunch of guys who the mainstream wrestling audience don't care about in the slightest put themselves over in front of a bunch of people who they're already over with in storylines and angles based around a YouTube series that barely anyone in the grand scheme of things watches. They're not taking over, they're not great businessmen and the whole thing was a load of nothing. People comparing it to the first Nitro or other monumental moments in wrestling couldn't be further from the truth and the WWE do not and will never care.

I can't imagine how anyone could watch their match at All In and not come away thinking Penta is a superior performer to Omega, in terms of both in-ring ability and overall charisma.

Okada is way better than Naito, and clearly the right choice to be the Ace of New Japan. Do people really argue Naito should be the Ace? It's more people want more done with him since he still hasn't had that "crowning moment"
I've seen it argued around places, not necessarily here but I have seen it.

Okada is clearly superior. Naito is always going to be Orton, Punk, Batista in regards to Okada's Cena. He will get his time to shine as number 1 at points but it will never be permanent
However, what Naito does have over him his the popularity factor tho that isn't the end all be all but it damn sure helps when he finally does get his time to be the Number 1 guy for a spell

I don't think Cody is as awful as the majority seem to think.

I agree with all of that. I think part of my frustration with it is a) even though I like Naito, I'm more of an Okada guy, and b) some Naito fanboys have been so damn obnoxious since the WK loss that it's made me actively dislike him more.

NJPW doesn't do instant satisfaction even when it makes sense so Naito will get his due at some point. Just a matter of how long the waiting period is.

I was on board with the randomness of Jinder Mahal winning the WWE title. His reign was too long and he should have fallen to Nakamura at SS last year, but I didn't hate it. Sure he sucks in the ring for the most part but he carried himself like a champ and looked the part, and definitely gave it all he could. I think it could have been worse.

Kenny Omega is decent at best (he's over as hell though so the push makes sense)
Hunter and Cena are WWE's best ever main event talent.
The UK indy boom (and a lot of the WWE signings from the UK) is built around phenomenonal athletes, 99% of whom don't know how to work a gimmick or put a match together. They just look like people playing at being wrestlers.

Cody is to blame for not having the Rhodes name, he should have approached people in management sympathetic to him about it before leaving or trademarked it before signing the way CM Punk, Rey Mysterio Jr and others did.
Cody is not a great in ring worker, he's an above average mid 2000s WWE developmental guy, but that doesn't matter. His strength lies in character work and cn make a feud interesting even if the matches aren't all that. Not every talent to get between the ropes can be a Bret Hart, a Randy Savage, Michaels or Flairand itwould be pretty dull if they were, If everyone's special in the same way, then no-one is.

I think it'll be Wrestle Kingdom in 2020- it falls on a Saturday that year, and I have a feeling that New Japan have an eye on that as the time they can legitimately sell out the Dome. The best main event they can do for that is Okada vs. Naito, with Naito looking to finally bury his biggest demon and beat Okada in the Dome. Is it a risk to wait that long? Absolutely. There is a very real chance that Naito could cool off by then. They're putting a lot of faith in Naito to stay as over as he currently is. But I honestly believe he will. Especially with the Japanese audience, who are traditionally a lot more patient and loyal than us western fans.

He really only has two goals left. Win the IWGP title cleanly from whoever is champ and beat Okada at WK
I think he wins the title from someone next year whether it be Omega or Tanahashi but his time is coming at some point. They finally let Omega have his moment this year and I expect the same for Naito at some point. I don't see him cooling him off especially when he's still popular after his down year but you run a big risk if you have him still doing nothing next year as well

Oh yeah, I think Naito will go in to that WK match with Okada as champ. I think he'll win it either at SG or Dominion next year.

WCW 2000 was periodically far better than WCW throughout most of 1999. The initial New Blood vs. Millionaire’s Club episodes (everything up until Arquette winning the title) and the first few weeks post-Bash at the Beach were actually captivating, exciting times where the status quo changed for the better.
Sure, in retrospect they were trainwrecks, but I’ll still take hilariously bad over dreadfully dull.

In my own way.. All In was an average show at best, im happy for those involved but I've been to 3 UK Independent shows this year that I would call superior.
