Well, that was underwhelming. Silent robot armies are almost always the most boring Who bad guys imaginable. No personality, no motivation... And I feel like the final two remaining competitors in a huge race of 4,000 people would be a bit more cutthroat and competitive. How did those two make it that far without being beaten to the finish by a bunch of others?
But on the bright side, none of the companions are annoying.

Given the way they greeted each other, it seemed that many of the last contestants developed something of a cameraderie about them. We don't know exactly how long the race was. That said, the enemies weren't really the purpose of the episode. They were a problem to be overcome certainly but the focus was on us getting to know the Doctor and new companions. This seemed a good choice for a second episode I think.

That was the best episode of Doctor Who I’ve seen in years.

Good episode.
Told a story about a subject with a message, without being preachy about it. Just showed how stupid and outright awful the situation was.
I wonder if that's the last we'll see of that guy...or if he was there just to make the point, rather oddly given the message of the episode, that racism never dies

that was one thing to bother me about the episode, Ryan used basically a time displacement gun to get rid of the bad guy but the doctor didnt once admonish him for using it. I know it would have gone against the message of the episode, but it did go against previous doctors "no guns" policy, hell it was even brought up in the previous episode that the doctor was anti-gun.

The only thing I can figure is that the Doctor was much more concerned about conserving history. It's also possible that because the gun didn't technically kill him, she'd be alright with that. Then again it could be an oversight in the writing.

Good episode. I feel like they’re already planting seeds for later in the season, possibly for the finale.

Then again it could be an oversight in the writing. Yeah, he just got sent back in time, so it didn't kill him. My nitpick with the episode was the fact that they didn't dress to the times, even though the bad guy clearly was dressed correctly. It's the south in the 50s, there would have been even more "you ain't from around here" than just the racial situation.

This week’s episode wasn’t too good. The combination of bad CGI along with an exaggerated heel with a political twist didn’t do much for me. I’m definitely watching the entire season though.

For the first time in years there will be no episode on Christmas Day. There will be one on New Year’s Day instead.

Boo to no Christmas...
While I am mostly enjoying this season it still seems super rushed.
They have the mystery setup for like 50 minutes and rush to the conclusion in 5.
As I implied it's not only from this series issue.

I figure we've had 4 episodes and only the most recent was lackluster. I'm still pretty interested and looking forward to the rest. I actually wasn't surprised that there would be no Christmas episode and none of my family watch Who so it doesn't really affect me.

Fun episode but bad CGI space gremlin. I really miss practical effects monsters.

the CGI was a little dodgy on the critter but a really well done episode.
One of the first of this series where it seemed to have a full arc and not rush to the ending like I mentioned earlier.

Think last week's episode would've worked a ton better without the pregnant man subplot. Ended up profoundly irritated at it to the point of fast-forwarding.
