This has been running for a year or so now, and it definitely deserves some love. A show-to-show retrospective on Nickelodeon. Here's a few worth checking out.

These are terrific! I've learned so much about a lot of shows I never even knew about before.
Now I want to see full episodes of Vegetable Soup because that show looks really interesting.

Yeah I've been binge watching this series since I discovered it a little over a month ago and not only it's a great look at the shows themselves, but also the people both in front of and behind the camera. And a great time capsule of the wild west of cable TV which I've always had a bit of a fondness for.
Plus that Tomorrow People retrospective confirms that alien Hitler episode was a real thing and not a childhood hallucination brought on by my first ever exposure to pixie sticks.

Weird, cause I thought VS was a PBS thing. Then again, I think Powerhouse was seen on both too. Funny story...a few years ago, I met Bette Midler at a Barnes and Noble signing. As a gift, I bought a wooden spoon and drew/painted it to look like Woody. She instantly recognized and remembered the character!

I will say this about the VS "dismissing Outerscope 1/the show cause the puppets were creepy" commentary: while I'm one who understands how it feels to be creeped out by elements on TV, to do it for the sake of humor, well...I can see that side too. Like the "Aquaman is the guy who talks to fish" memes...you miss that there were lots of really good stories in the comics and Arthur himself wasn't a slouch there. It's just the pacified Superfriends version that comes off as useless.
/Then again, SF also severely watered down Batman and Wonder Woman in the same way.

Well, I didn't wonder because I watched the show back in the day. But I bet a lot of people don't know the connection because they're too young.

Kids Writes:
This is yet another show he's covered that I've never heard of, much less seen before but this is a show I totally would have loved as a kid if I'd seen it.

Wow! That episode on "You Can't Do That On Television" is outstanding! I forgot about the multiple colors of slime they'd use sometimes.

Finally. I have been totally waiting for this one on YCDTOTV ever since I discovered this channel. This was one of my favorite shows as a kid and I always had a big crush on Christine. The fact that it took about a month and a half for this to show up when the channel was averaging about two videos a month beforehand had me thinking this would never come. I understand this is a major show and a long video so I understand why it took so long to get the video up, but I really have to wonder how Pop Arena is gonna handle classic 90's Nick when he finally gets to it. It's gonna be one hell of a workload.
Just for the body shaming thing of Christine, while not cool, there were two things going on with it that always made me think of it as not a big deal - 1. I always got the impression that Christine the character knew she wasn't fat and was just being teased by the other kids. That's what kids do, they pick a flaw on you, whether real or not, and mock you for it. You just have to learn to deal with it. 2. Christine the actress was technically an adult for most of her time on the show (she would've been around 17 for the episodes that first aired on Nick and 23 when she left the show), so she would've been mature enough to understand how the joke works.
That said, seeing that Roger Price did the same jokes in the predecessor series with Pauline Quirke, who actually had a larger body type, was genuinely horrible.
As for Roger Price, every time I've seen him give an interview or seen someone else talk about him in other interviews, he always did come off as kinda a creepy dude. In hindsight it really does amaze me that he was allowed around children at all at the time.
As for availability, a couple of years back I found that just about every episode was available on YouTube, including the Canada-only first season which was posted by Roger Price himself. I was very sad to discover those had all been taken down since then.

You Can't Do That On Television This is a big one. 90+ minutes of deep diving. I loved this show as a child, and I feel like Poparena did an excellent job here. It took some turns I wasn't expecting, but history is not always kind. I don't think there's been a better video put together yet on this show. There's a couple of video essay historians who really knock it out of the park: Poparena, the guy who does defunctland, and the gaming historian in particular.

Boy that "boys in dresses" stuff just kept going. Yea-I just watched it last night and he coulda knocked a good ten minutes or so off of it. it is a serious accusation of course, but very heavy handed. I guess he's expecting a case to come up now PS I’d try to watch it ASAP-I bet it’ll be pulled
