Even though Marc Mero didn't reach the potential WWF thought that he would, that video made me realize that he had a solid wrestling career all things considered. He had a good run in WCW winning the TV Title a few times, and he started strong in the WWF and managed to have a decent role until he left.
Considering how quickly some guys ended up falling once WWF lost interest, he did okay.

Mero is a guy who has every reason to be embittered about how his WWE run went and the fact he's not really speaks to his character. He picked hiimself up, dusted hmself off and went on with his life outside of wrestling. I'm sure he still has a few enemies within wrestling because he spoke out about the huge number of premature deaths around the time of the Benoit murders, but someone who was an active wrestler needed to sayt something.

I liked him. He gave it his best at whatever he was told to do.
Can't really ask much more than that.

That battle royale where he relentlessly plays to the crowd non-stop is low-key one of the funnier moments in WWE history.

I thought he was fairly good, had some really good matches with Austin and Regal in WCW, and with Austin in WWF as well.

Wildman gimmick was way better than the Boxer thing.

I always saw him as the next Macho Man back in the day. Imagine if he and Steve Austin stuck with their original suggested names. Chilly McFreeze vs Tutti Frutti!

I have always been surprised at how much flak "Wildman" Marc Mero gets. Because I really enjoyed him and I thought he was really over. In fact, he was really over..
Obviously the times were changing so happy clappy babyfaces were going out of fashion, but I thought he had a better edge to him than most of them did like Rocky Miavia. I think his knee injury came at the worst possible time, right during the switch over from the New Generation to the Attitide Era (Feb 1997) and the injured knee means he had to change his working style as well hence the heel turn... that said he garned great heat as a heel, but they didnt know what to do with him once the Sable fued was done.

I was a huge Marc Mero fan. I have never understood why guys like Mick Foley and Steve Austin have talked so much crap about him over the years. He made better moves negotiating his first WWE contract at the time. Get over it. Don't hate the player; hate the game. I think Mero might be one of the most underrated workers of all time. Put it this way: I always see folks giving Steve Austin credit (which he rightfully deserves) for changing his style into more of a brawler after his neck injury. But I think that Marc Mero deserves credit for that as well, going from the high-flying daredevil, Wildman gimmick to the brawling boxer gimmick of Marvelous Marc Mero after his knee injury.

To be fair to Mick, I don't think he was 100% serious when he talked about hating Mero.

This is my first time watching Wrestling with Wregret, it’s f***ing great, their production abilities are amazing. The wwe should hire them.

To be fair to Mick, I don't think he was 100% serious when he talked about hating Mero. No but he resented Marc a lot. Mick even rejected working with him for a long term program. In my opinion, Mick resented the fact that Mero got a guaranteed contract and a big deal, while Foley wasn’t even invited to Vince’s house. That also pissed off Steve Austin, Mero was gonna be presented as a big star with tons of merch, meanwhile Vince said that Austin would never be a star because of his southern accent and never to let him cut a promo.

Mero's finest moment was when he beat Sable in that grueling match at Over the Edge.

I just discovered this channel a few months ago and have been binge watching his pay-per-view reviews over the weekend. Brian is super talented at explaining things fluidly in front of a camera. I love the ones with actual footage used for context (much like this Mero episode). They really help tie everything together in an excellent package.

To be fair to Mick, I don't think he was 100% serious when he talked about hating Mero. Foley doesn't hate Mero but did think he was really undeserving of the deal he got in 1996. Also, according to Have a Nice Day, Foley was presented an idea by Jim Cornette that came from Vince of working a program with Mero for WrestleMania 13, and he basically told Cornette he didn't need to be on the show that badly.

Think he’s going to stop adding footage, especially on his PPV reviews because WWE is flagging them and they’re getting pulled. Of course Brian is totally in the right, but I don’t think he wants the bother of fighting it.
