Never minded Mero. Sable was useless though and sadly ruined his career.

I have always been surprised at how much flak "Wildman" Marc Mero gets. Because I really enjoyed him and I thought he was really over. In fact, he was really over.. Obviously the times were changing so happy clappy babyfaces were going out of fashion, but I thought he had a better edge to him than most of them did like Rocky Miavia. I think his knee injury came at the worst possible time, right during the switch over from the New Generation to the Attitide Era (Feb 1997) and the injured knee means he had to change his working style as well hence the heel turn... that said he garned great heat as a heel, but they didnt know what to do with him once the Sable fued was done. They were setting up a match between he and Rocky when Marc got hurt, coincidentally.

Mero was a decent wrestler and performer, and from what I've see speech wise a really good motivational speaker. Good he found his niche post wrestling.
And Wregret is always good. Brian's around here somewhere; nice work Zane!

I just discovered this channel a few months ago and have been binge watching his pay-per-view reviews over the weekend. Brian is super talented at explaining things fluidly in front of a camera. I love the ones with actual footage used for context (much like this Mero episode). They really help tie everything together in an excellent package. Think he’s going to stop adding footage, especially on his PPV reviews because WWE is flagging them and they’re getting pulled. Of course Brian is totally in the right, but I don’t think he wants the bother of fighting it. NO, Brian is not totally in the right. He does not have permission to use WWE footage, especially if his videos are monetized.

If he's not using matches or segments in their entirety and only using small clips as visual aids, then he's perfectly within his rights to use the footage under YouTube's Fair Use policy. Monetising his videos does push the boundary a little further, but monetisation and Fair Use are not mutually exclusive.

I a always thought he was African American (he had a little Richard gimmick in WCW) and was genuinely shocked to find out he is Caucasian. He of course got overshadowed by his wife in WWE but was a solid mid carder. He also has the distinction of allegedly being the first guy to get a guaranteed contract from Vince when he jumped from WCW.

OSW Review seems to get away with using a lot of WWE owned footage in their videos, but I'm not 100% certain that their YoutTube channel is monetized. YouTube has given them trouble in the past.

YouTube is notoriously inconsistent with how they handle copyright situations. Channels that are very obviously protected by Fair Use get shut down, while channels like Monsoon Classic have been around for almost a decade posting full matches without any problems whatsoever.

You're right. And, it just occurred to me that YouTube will block/delete videos with copyrighted content, even if the video isn't monetized. So, monetization isn't necessarily the issue.

BrianZaneas I said he hasn't posted in years but he still seems to lurk occasionally. He's probably has lots of time occupied by making weekly video content (weekly Raw/SmackDown recaps, retro PPV reviews, WWW episodes, etc.) that he likely doesn't have time to post here often.

It's possible, but as I said, it is actually possible to legitimately monetise a video under Fair Use protection. Most of the biggest YouTubers and Twitch streamers make extremely handsome livings that way. Nintendo are very aggressive when it comes to taking down videos regardless of whether they're protected by Fair Use or not, and WWE aren't far behind, especially considering they have a huge presence on YouTube. Even when the takedown is unjustified most YouTubers don't bother fighting it, since it's a time consuming process and can lead to going before a judge to get a ruling. It's simply not worth the hassle.
