Meanwhile, Gabriel Iglesias is voicing Speedy Gonzales for this movie. Controversy for everybody! from everything I've heard Speedy is pretty beloved in Mexico. Speedy Gonzales was one of my favorites growing up. Loved how he was always outsmarting Sylvester. The shorts with him facing off against Daffy Duck were weird, though.

Nah, as we say with She-ra, the louder voices are people who were either too young or to old to watch the original show and hadn't shown even the slightest inclination about caring about MOTU in any form prior to the change. Look at Dr Seuss, people who care oh so much are adult males making a big show of reading books that are still in print and are in no danger of any sort of 'cancelling'. Outrage merchants and culture warriors will latch on to any and all change in the hope they can get the few people who actually are nostalgic for the size of a cartoon rabbit's boobs to give them their money and their vote, or will keep an open mind to the rest of their ghastly agenda. Skirting around the "no politics" rule is forbidden still. Leave that to mods, please.

Having to skip through my FB feed once again...all I have to say is...I’d we could get all these people blowing up over Pepe le Pew and Disney blocking kids from watching Dumbo and Peter Pan to give as much as a shit about real world issues, we could get stuff done.

As I said, I am to the point where I feel companies should do this sort of thing silently/not call attention to it. If every time something like this happens, it'll be blown all out of proportion and we have to hear about you know what. And boy, with some of the people I know, do I EVER have to hear it!! Is some of it legit reacting to social climates? Maybe? Who can say? All I know is.... Potato Head is the brand not character. Just SIX less popular books out of hundreds of Seuss books. Just one deleted scene that sounded to me like it was out of place in a family movie anyway. I am waiting on WB to say anything about this. I'd love them to officially confirm that it was just a coincidence. BTW, Flower from Bambi = superior skunk. P.S. the main thing I got out of this "controversy"? The cat's name was Penelope. I never knew that.

Curious what bygone pop culture thing the grifters will latch on to to fire up people who are almost solely anger&fear next.
Bravestar? Shirt Tails? The Snorks?
Place your bets!

I mean, this wasn’t even WB saying this, it was someone who leaked it to Variety so this wasn’t comparable to Hasbro’s stuff.

Millicent showed up again in a Thanksgiving special.
In the original, there were a lot of cameos from one-off characters, wandering around town or in the crowd during the game. Wouldn't be surprised if you spot her in something like that.

While I do like that they actually did the main human as a Toon in this (something that I thought they could have done in the first movie)...basically, this doesn't seem Looney enough for a movie mainly featuring the Looney Tunes.

So all this time they tried to convince us this was a sequel to Space Jam, when in reality it's a sequel to The Lego Batman Movie?
