Every skit before season 3. Pretty much, and some of the Season 3 sketches weren't bad either. I think the problem was, while Season 1 and 2 kind of rode that line between humor and anger, with Season 3, a lot the stuff was just pure anger, and I think once Dave realized that, he knew he had to walk away. Still, it's pretty hard to f*** with those first two seasons. I think the only two runs, as far as sketch comedy shows go, that can equal the white hot heat Dave (and the cast/crew of TCS) was generating would be the first 4 seasons of SNL and the first 3 seasons of In Living Color. |

What's interesting about the Rick James episode documentary is that there's multiple parts people tend to isolate rather than just one or two. Mine was "I give them titties FOUR thumbs down!" and, naturally, this. "I give them four thumbs down" "Unity" "I'm Rick James Bitch" "Darkness" "Should have never gave you .... any money" "F*** yo couch"
The scene where Rick says he would never grind his feet on someone's couch, goes in about it being a ridiculous accusation, then says he remembered doing it...followed by Dave dying, rewinding it and playing it again...I cry laughing every time. |
