The news about Gadot being cut is apparently being refuted by those 'close to production' claims Flash Movie News twitter, it might be difficult for Gunn to clarify things without giving away spoilers.

It's new territory, it's easy for them to release it in a way that it's unaffected by anything else going on in the greater universe. Aquaman 2, on the other hand? If not for Aquaman 1 somehow being the highest grossing film of the DCEU to date, I'd bet on the sequel being DOA. |

Why are they making this "new DCU" muddy with old actors? Tell them it was a good effort, but it's time to try something new.
Start fresh. Hire people that aren't morons who just went on several months of GTA LARP'ing.

It is worth noting that it's "some execs" who are open to the idea, and not Gunn and Safran themselves, who only answer to Zaslav.
If Gunn and Safran want to start fresh, "some execs" don't have a say in the matter.

Two things to unpack here 1) Hey, WB can't announce they've fired Ezra Miller before they recoup/profit off this film, can they? 2) WB were hell-bent on firing squeaky clean fan-favourite Henry Cavill and want to retain the horrible human being with little to no fans as the Flash. I think it's option 2 personally... |
