from the Observer: smart move on AEW's part. Don't touch that cursed brand. It's only going to be a matter of time once announced that any talent that matters will be jumping ship. I mean if all we saw is true, what talent isn't going to go for the money and if they have a bigger TV deal. They are going to want to be seeing by the most. The Impact brand itself is worth little. Tape library if you have a way to use it and the WWE does. AEW is more likely wanting a handful of talent which likely will get anyway when contracts come up.

from the Observer: smart move on AEW's part. Don't touch that cursed brand. There's nothing to "buy," anyway. If AEW wants those guys to wrestle for them, they can get them. They don't have to buy Impact to do it. The only thing of any value is maybe the video library, but even that is..... mostly a bunch of Vince Russo garbage.

The library is worth more to WWE than it would be to All Elite. If they were to purchase Impact, people would give them the TNA treatment. With WWE, think of all the TNA guys they have on their roster, plus with the Network, there is always room for more content.

Yeah, be like Vince in the 80s, not Crockett. Crockett went around buying up every sad sack loser territory (FL, Central States) or notable group that had money problems (UWF) and it wrecked him in the long run. Vince just ran these groups out of business and took the top guys he wanted. AEW should just take the guys they want from TNA.

Well, apparently it’s all official now. All Elite Wrestling is a thing, as well as something called “Double Or Nothing” which I’d assume is essentially All In II.

From what I said in the BTE thread: Listening to Observer Radio which was also released at midnight. Only really major details to report is that they have multiple TV offers as people in the television industry really took note of how successful All In was. Dave was careful to note that this doesn't guarantee they get TV by any means, but there is certainly interest from multiple people. Other details are what was reported earlier with Khan being in charge. Cody has signed, Bucks are expected to officially sign soon. And obviously, they are going to be trying to sign guys left and right. Their relationship with New Japan is unclear right now given they would be direct competition with ROH.

I honestly think, if they're smart about this, they can eventually be a serious competitor to the WWE. I don't think they'll be beating them in the ratings right away, but I think they have a shot at taking them on in time. The Elite have the "cool factor" working for them. There's not a damn thing cool about WWE now. It's obvious WWE has taken notice of this and are a little concerned due to the way they're signing up talent left and right. I'm just curious to see if there's any New Japan involvement with this.

Right now the only ones attached to this are Cody and Brandi, the YBs, Hangman Page, Kazarian, Daniels, and Scorpio Sky. They are on the graphic for the AEW: Double or Nothing info thing scheduled for Jan. 8 in Jacksonville.

A wrestling promotion owned by a man worth twice the value of Vince McMahon...
They won't like that in Stamford.

Somebody just pointed me towards something interesting.
January 8th in Jacksonville, Florida?
That is also the date and place of a SmackDown! taping.

Apparently a few top names are already signed, and AEW are testing the independent contractor concept by tapping up WWE talent to make the jump. Tye Dillinger is already retweeting them.

A wrestling promotion owned by a man worth twice the value of Vince McMahon... They won't like that in Stamford. That’s all well and good, but the question from here is... Is he going to put in enough money to make the promotion sustainable long-term, or enough money to make it a competitor to WWE? Because those are two completely different levels of investment.

Tye could use an opportunity. I don't think he has given a shit about his WWE job in a while. Hard to when you build something for yourself and get over only for it to be buried 10 graves deep.

Tony Khan has been a subscriber to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter since he was a teen. I'd assume it is safe to say that he is all in. Plus, it's not like this is gonna be his only source of income. The dude has a lot of outlets.

Yeah, Sinclair is bigger than Vince, but they don't give a shit about ROH and haven't put much money into it. Tye might want to be careful, you never know when the blowback could hit Peyton Royce.
