If we're talking Tony Khan, then not really. He's got a net worth of about $4.5 Million. If we're talking his dad, then yeah. Ric Flair mentioned in a highspots shoot with Piper that from conversations he had with outside groups, possibly Mark Cuban, that the initial investment to even dare to compete with Vince would be in the realm of six hundred millions. Tony Khan’s pop is gonna have to cover the bill then. If he's smart, he'll get some investors outside of his family involved.

I feel like I'm the only one who liked Judas. I mean, Jericho's not a fantastic singer but he's alright and the lyrics were pretty good.

Judas is very good, and Painless is pretty good too. It's not like Jericho is doing all this on his own; he has a very competent backing band and frankly, they're doing some of the best mainstream-appreciative metal in a good while.

It’s gonna take more money than that I think if his goal is to compete with Vince. If he wants to compete directly with the wwe he’s gonna need his dad.

Presuming this takes off, Chris Jericho's final WWE match will likely be his entry into The Greatest Royal Rumble.

So Ryan Satin is reporting now that Jericho and JRs involvement has been heavily overstated, they'd just be talents and the elite would be running the company.
I'd link but I saw it on pc and now in on a shitty mobile phone.
I do wonder if the elite running it is why they can be involved before Meir contracts are up, I mean surely a wrestling contract wouldn't stop you from setting up your own promotion whilst under it? Plenty of people under contract eslewhwre set up indie feds and schools

I'm not expecting a world power coming out of this or anything, but if it can be a Smokey Mountain, where they do their own thing and people get paid, even if the ride's only a few years, could still be a positive thing. More places for people to work and get paid, more alternatives, and more places for people to get experience can be a good thing, indeed.

If it gets us a post-Elite ROH that can find its own identity again, a New Japan without The Elite always floating overhead, and another big name on the US super indy scene, I can see only good things from it. Let's do it Interesting, if this is true. Hopefully they don’t make the same mistakes TNA did, and given that none of the people involved in those are likely ever going to be anywhere near this project, it seems unlikely that they would. It's probably impossible for them not to make some mistakes because I would contend TNA is the story of a wrestling promotion making every possible mistake. It's just about not making as many mistakes as to become TNA.

I'm not shocked people are putting every aspect of this down, its the nature of the internet wrestling fan, but man oh man, let me be the one to be excited.
Just a few things.
1. Daddy Khan is a bad business man? He went from coming to America with no money to making 7 billion dollars. This is the idiot who owns two sports teams? Ok. Im going to respectfully disagree and say he is not a money mark in the Herb Abrams and Dixie Carter way.
2. Is Son Khan a money mark? He is running a few companies and seems to share his dads spirit in making money and starting/supporting ventures.
3. Cody and the Young Bucks built a small empire and their ideas alone. They sold out a 12k arena on an idea. They built a huge audience for a dumb joke youtube show. They got their shirts into Malls all over the country. They are literally the hottest thing on the indie scene since.... 2005 ROH? Maybe hotter?
4. Vince McMahon lives and breaths WWE? 500 million dollars and the XFL relaunch in 2020 would like to kindly disagree.
5. Chris Jericho is one of the biggest wrestlers in the world. He has huge crossover appeal in the entertainment world. He gets a huge pop in any promotion he goes too. McMahon would put him in a main event tomorrow. He doesnt know how to hustle? He is one of the best hustlers of all time and knows how to build and msintain a successful brand, and isnt afraid to take chances.
6. Jim Ross has run a successful podcast, worked for WWF and WCW. He has seen the world over a 100 times. Whos a bigger living announcer? Who knows more people? Yeah he has lost a lot of his ability, but he's a carney who wants to rip people off? Really?
Money + talent + experience + passion seems like a fairly good chance for success.

Money + talent + experience + passion seems like a fairly good chance for success. I disagree mostly on the Khan stuff. First, in his own business career with Flex N Gate is a genius and became a self made millionaire. Now as a sports owner he hasn’t been good or average. The Jags had one of the lowest attendance gates in the nfl, in 2017 for a game they only drew five thousand people. The Jags were also a perpetual joke until Tom Coughlin was hired as gm and he’s now turning the team around, but under Khan they’ve been awful. Now Fulham is a bottom tier franchise in England, they’re on constant relegation. In his own private businesses the guy is a genius, but as a sports owner he hasn’t been very good. I called his son a money mark not because he’s dumb, because clearly he isn’t, but because in my opinion this is a vanity project for him, just like it was a vanity project for Dixie Carter. Khan apparently is doing this out of fandom and not to make money. Now I agree with the rest, the Young Bucks created a successful brand out of nothing and also were good bookers in PWG. I trust them to run a company. While I dislike stuff Jericho did outside the ring, he’s a big star that people recognize. Jim Ross certainly is the best announcer of all time despite his njpw run and is a great businessman and executive. Despite the xfl Vince is still in the wwe buble. According to Prichard and Brian Gewirtz, when the original xfl launched, Vince would somehow juggled both by forcing the writers to travel with him at xfl games and the next day they would work on creative. The man is legit crazy, he doesn’t sleep that much, he just cares about the wwe, no other promoter shares that.

The AEWrestling twitter has followed a couple of arenas: Sears Center in Chicago(Home of ALL IN), The Forum in LA, Pepsi Center in Denver(home of a couple of UFC Events, most recently Korean Zombie vs. Rodriguez, as well as the 2009 RAW/Nuggets controversy in 2009), Wells Fargo Center in Philly(regularly hosts WWE Events, most notably WrestleMania XV, and Royal Rumble 2014/2015/2018), Target Center in Minneapolis(held TLC last year), Toyota Center in Houston, Smoothie King Center in New Orleans (Host of NXT TakeOver New Orleans, Hall of Fame, and RAW/SmackDown after Mania this past year), Key Arena in Seattle(Host of No Way Out 2009, and Over the Limit 2011), Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland(the arena CM Punk walked out of WWE and debuted in UFC), T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas(Elimination Chamber this year, and will host SmackDown in a couple weeks), PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC(a usual WWE House Show spot), Little Caeser's Arena in Detroit(Hell in a Cell 2017), and Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

I don't think The Elite are so delusional as to think they'd compete with WWE straight out the gate. Anybody thinking that is a fool. I expect this to be, at it's most, essentially what TNA was a decade ago. A promotion with some prominence that is offering an alternative. If they can get on a good sized network, that'll be good for the business.

Well Khan certainly wants to be a competitor. I don’t think even tna has ever used such big arenas as the ones listed. It took almost twenty years but there could be a new company.

How will this war be named? The cruise war? The Tuesday Night War? JR’s choice?
