{Spoiler}Its pretty stupid whenever i see this happening. Its bad enough when theres a tournament PPV and on the back they list all the matches that happening, thus giving away the majority of the matches if you put a little thought into it. But sometimes they're just WTF, Dude! I remember the Survivor Series 98 vhs which a tournament for the vacant title had a picture of the Rock with the belt but this all fades into insignificance when you see the royal rumble 2016 FRONT COVER!! and how about summerslam 2013 Who honestly thought that was a good job? Or is there a reason why they give the result away that I'm missing?

It's an event that took place 2-3 months earlier, and the fanbase for wrestling knows well before that. This would be a concern for non-wrestling fans, but even then I'm guessing they don't know (or care?) enough about the wrestlers to even think it's a spoiler.
It'd be like a DVD of the 2018 World Series showing the Red Sox celebrating with the trophy. Everyone who cares knows.

It's annoying to me too. It doesn't look as good as when they just use a poster either.

If it weren’t for bacon, “no spoilers!” Is the Internet’s most annoying legacy. I’m currently reading a book about Custer, no one tell me how it ends!!!

To be fair, it annoys me when Planet of the Apes or The Third Man (or Miracle Mile!) for example are sold with the twists on the packaging. Someone, somewhere may not have known it and come to the twist for the first time.

There was a time when I did not have sky and the WWE Network was purely the stuff of futuristic sci-fi dreams, that I would buy the ppv DVDs on a monthly basis and avoid all the results. This kind of pointless spoiling has gone on for years - as I distinctly remember the internal packaging for WM20 wrecking the two title match results.
Whereas they might think it is less of a big deal nowadays when fewer people buy DVDs and the Internet has ruined everything much like SkyNet nuking everybody in Terminator, if they are going to still release DVDs why do this? It makes absolutely no sense and completely agree with he original post.

The absolute worst one was about a week before the royal rumble, an online retailer had the dvd back text for the rumble ahead of time.
It was the year of Cena/Rock2:Boxoffice Boogaloo. It said something like "with John Cena securing his spot at the showcase of the immortals by winning the Royal Rumble, can he successfully dethrone The Rock at Wrestlemania "
Gave away their rumble and punks streak ending a week in advance just so Amazon could have flavor text for a preorder.

I’m currently reading a book about Custer, no one tell me how it ends!!! There's a statute of limitations on spoilers. I am one of the biggest no spoilers people but if something's been around long enough I won't sweat it. Still, you need to give people a chance to absorb a movie/tv show/book/etc before just blurting out what happens. I've had more than one thing ruined because of that. It's just a matter of treating your fellow person with a bit of respect for a short time. If someone is complaining about spoilers 4 years later, tell them to eat a bag.

Anyone who still buys DVDs deserves this tbh We are a dying breed who understands that the companies who run the streaming services can give us and take away films at whim. (Hi FilmStruck! or rather Bye FilmStruck! ) They can't take my foot locker full of DVDs, though.

I think it's more the DVDs being a collection item more than showing it to people who have never seen it before.

If you're planning on buying the DVD, you already know the outcome, so why does it matter?

If you're planning on buying the DVD, you already know the outcome, so why does it matter? So noone has ever bought a DVD (or BluRay or whatever) of a PPV they hadn't watched before?
