Was catching up with some old friends this week. And realized that for most of them the first R Rated film they saw was Terminator 2 Judgment Day.
My first R rated film was the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I was 3. I saw it at a drive in with my father and my older cousin.
So fellow posters what was your first R Rated,or the equivalent rating in your country,? Also how old were you when ya saw it? And did you see it in a theater,at home on home video or some other way?

My dad took my sister and I to see Lethal Weapon 3. I was 9 and my sister was 5.
He took us to Toys R' Us earlier, so I guess we did something we wanted and something he wanted. Haha.
That was in theaters. I had HBO as a kid, so my dad and I watched Commando, Rambo, and all kinds of shit when I was little.

probably Glory - I remember watching that as part of a 6th grade history class
if not that, it's probably some random movie I can't remember that I watched with my dad

My dad let me watch Robocop when I was 4.
Don't worry, he covered my eyes when Murphy's arm gets blown off.

Technically Fright Night, but I was a baby in the back seat when my family went to the drive-in. But Demon Knight was one of the first ones my parents took me to see theatrically.
On video, Hard To Kill or Terminator 2 before Demon Knight.

Very first R rated film I ever watched was Coming To America. We were living in Germany at the time my sister along with our parents took us to theatre to see it.
It was my first film in general that I ever saw in a movie theatre.

I remember picking The Good Son out at Blockbuster and thinking it would be like Home Alone.

Fairly sure my cousins showed me Terminator when I was like 5 and they got in trouble for it. Only one after that I clearly recall was American Pie that my sister showed me.

I'm pretty sure I saw a bunch via tv/cable without knowing it. Like From Dusk Till Dawn, Bad Boys, Species, Speed, the Beverley hills cop flicks. Lethal weapons etc. but the first I rented and went "woah this is rated r" was Air Force One. Randomly enough.

I spent the night over at a friends house and we stayed up late watching movies on TV. One of them was Predator.

Probably either A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Fly or RoboCop.
Also remember when I was 10 owning Re-Animator, and a bunch of my friends wanted to watch it - none of them could manage it and I had to turn it off (I had seen it a few times all the way through by this point)

Maybe Porky's? Revenge of the Nerds, Conan, and An American Werewolf in London was around that time, I couldn't be older than 3-4.
Rambo & RoboCop I remember for sure, but I was 7 by that point. Even had the toys.
I didn't see a R-rated movie in theaters until Species in 1995.

Police Academy. Whenever it got to an inappropriate scene my dad would yell "R!" and I had to close my eyes and cover my ears until he said "OK!"

My first R rated film was the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I was 3. What the hell? Doctors have advised against having kids watch TV until they are at least 2-3 years old. How do you go from maybe your first month or two of watching videos to watching a horror film?

It almost certainly was Caddyshack, though it might have been Escape from New York.
