Has the XFL suspended their season too?
With this Coronavirus wiping out sporting events, Vince has to be on the warpath with it hitting this and Wrestlemania.

Some word going around that's going to happen but nothing official yet. If so I have to imagine it's the death of the XFL. Public interest has been dropping from day one anyway, you interrupt the momentum like this then I can't see there being any interest at all whenever it returns.

Apparently it's official now that the XFL will suspend operations due to COVID-19.

Word is that it is confirmed for 2021 season. But an abrupt end like this would be worrisome I imagine. It was doing better than most of the other sports it was going up against. All this stuff couldn't have come at a worse time for a startup league

well .. I am disappointed XFL 2.0 is shut down this season but I understand why
and I think Vince sold enough WWE stock to fund the league through 2022 if I remember right

Yep, this might end the league... there's a chance by the time it comes up again next year the interest completely wanes.

Really sad end to the first season. Houston was unbeaten but was a flawed team that could be beaten. Sadly there is a good chance for them that P.J. Walker will be an NFL backup next year. My favorite storyline from this season was the completely collapse of Cardale Jones, After two very impressive games he could not have played worse. Really looking forward to next season.

Charlie Ebersol: Hey Vince, at least I lasted 8 games.

It's still weird to me that Tom Dundon basically funded the AAF 6 extra weeks just to get his hands on a Gambling App.

They were out of money after Week 2. Tom Dundon bought the league after that (that's why you see Carolina Hurricanes logos behind Ebersol), but it turned out that all he really wanted out of the purchase was a gambling app that was being developed alongside the AAF.

Yep, this might end the league... there's a chance by the time it comes up again next year the interest completely wanes. The league had funding to 2022. SO they will be back. While this situation sucks. The XFL isn't done. It may look different because players showed enough to draw NFL interest. The league had a ton of positives.

I don't think the NFL is gonna raid the XFL anywhere near what you think. There's always a roster squeeze in September because of how many draft picks the team wants to keep, which is usually in the area of 4-8 new bodies per franchise including practice squad. There's gonna more talent going to the XFL than coming out of it.

I'm not saying that none of these guys are going to make the NFL, but rather there's always that roster purge of dozens of talented, NFL-fringe players that is going to be more upside than a handful of guys making an NFL roster.
