The night time soaps probably wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the popularity of villain JR Ewing. The villain in Kung Fu Panda really got screwed over by everyone he knew and loved and was then brutally murdered after being made defenceless. Not counting the years he was held captive and repeatedly humiliated by sadistic guards. I really don't know why we were supposed to support Jack Black in that film. Or any film.

The Hive in Teen Titans Go.
Despite being villains, they seem like pretty decent people unlike the Titans on that show.

I rooted for Scar in "The Lion King" because it was ridiculous that Simba was next in line over him. He only did what was necessary to prevent his birth right from being ripped away from him by things that he had no control over. He was shown to be a bad king, but that was because Mufasa and his father only trained Mufasa to be King and he was forced to learn on the job. Also, he engineered peace with the hyenas. What could possibly be wrong with two opposing sides deciding to come together for the greater good? I have two problems with this line of logic. 1. In regards to your point about Simba being next in line: that's how succession has worked for hundreds of years. The first-born son is first in line, second-born is second, etc. etc., and if the first-born has children, they are automatically higher in the line of succession than the second-born. Should Scar have been a regent until Simba came of age? Maybe, but even then, that probably should have been Sarabi's position as Mufasa's mate. 2. Scar didn't really "make peace" with the hyenas. They were effectively his hired goons who followed him under promises of positions of power in his new regime. And the two sides didn't really "come together". The hyenas overran the Pride Lands, ate all the food, and left nothing for the lions of Pride Rock or the other animals. They were more of a burden on the Pride Lands than anything. Correct, the Hyenas were allowed to do whatever they wanted because Scar gave them free reign and forced The Lionesses' to obey. And then when there's no food left and the other herds leave because of a drought, Scar refuses to let the Lions move on so they could survive.

Crowley in Supernatural and to an extent Lucifer At a certain point, Crowley loved Sam and especially Dean far too much to really be a villain. He was, at worst, a tweener. But that's why we love him haha

They were another example of villains I rooted for. And when they finally rebel? Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

I really like Adachi in Persona 4. The Golden version even made it possible to help him get away with the murders.

When I was younger I always wanted Dick Dastardly to win a wacky race I mean the dude just wanted a win and kept getting in his own way This. Plus the Really Rottens in the Laff-a-Lympics. Would watching Press Your Luck and rooting for the Whammies count? The Laff a lympics were rigged! EVERYONE cheated in them... the Rottens were the only ones called out for it.
