The thing that upsets me the most was that his criticism is only based on the fact that they’re women, that’s beyond old man screaming at clouds, that’s sexism. That type of mentality is why we got the Miss Kitty matches and the Johnny Ace hiring only lingerie models era. Becky Lynch being more popular than goobers like Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin has nothing to with her sex, it’s because she’s just better than them. If a person draws money I don’t care what sex they have. Imagine seeing the reactions she gets and all the people lining up to meet her and thinking that fans don't buy Becky Lynch as The Man. I hope she gets paid fairly for all of her hard work. If she makes less than Zack Ryder that would legit upset me.

That's my favourite part of the interview. "The Man" is arguably the hottest act in all of wrestling right now, and this dinosaur thinks she'd be better off as a literal white meat "aw, shucks" babyface whose only character trait is she takes a beating but keeps getting up. I'm pretty sure the swaggering, uber-confident badass who can not only give out beatings but take them as well (and keep getting up) is working perfectly well for her.

Never in my life have I heard a legend make so many bad comments about today's wrestling product in one interview or podcast. You can break those quotes down and we'd be talking about it for 6 months. Also for jokes Son, when I was watching those 1997-98 Raws the only Road Warriors match I paid attention to was when they lost the titles to the New Age Outlaws. That’s a bold statement. Superstar Billy Graham has said some of the stupidest things on record, and same with Bret Hart. Animal’s comments are idiotic, but he’s barely on the medal stand.

It’s kind of impressive just how out of touch most of these old guys are. It almost reads like a satire or something.

And if Animal wants to see how being a white meat baby face in 2018 is working out, ask Bayley. She’s sporadically featured and barely in any sort of prominent role on TV.

See also: Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler 2013-2017, Becky Lynch 2016-2018. In fact, when was the last time a white meat babyface was anything other than a glorified JTTS in WWE?

The only problem with the women being better than the men is the fact the men are so boring.
Actually no I can’t even spin that. If Becky, Charlotte and Asuks or Bryan and Styles have the best match it doesn’t matter... the other group should want to be better than them the next time. That’s how you get better.

You know you're doing it wrong when even Ultimate Warrior's final tweets were much, much more progressive mobile.twitter.com/ultimatewarrior/status/433423320537509888"Ain't nothing more powerful than being in the company of a strong, smart, creative and independent woman. Congrats @amydumas . See ya #WWEHOF"

Man stuck in glory days of bygone era believes tropes of bygone era still relevant.

Perhaps more no-selling of piledrivers onto concrete is the answer.

I mean it's not like they had to turn her back into a babyface because the fans love her new attitude too much or anything.

Man stuck in glory days of bygone era believes tropes of bygone era still relevant. To be fair, the way the Road Warriors got over and stayed over for a long time - brutalising opponents in quick matches to hide their limitations as workers - still works today, as demonstrated so well with Strowman. That being said, Animal evidently never learned much beyond that, which is why we now have him spouting off hopelessly outdated views on a product that has passed him by - a product that, coincidentally, his brother still has a very active part in shaping.

Irelevant coke head roider from 80s yells at clouds about how back in his day only muscle men who acted like they were legit tough guys main evented.
Also he's going off on one about how Daniel Bryan isn't selling any merch as a heel but also complains about how there's a lack of defined heels nowadays and how heels don't do anything to get any heat in their matches.
I think he's just being cynical for whatever built up reasons he has (whether it be as simple as "hurr Dee hurr wrestling is different now to when I made my money in it" or something deeper) rather than offering any creative criticism.

I like his rant on how Tyler Breeze is a joke jobber because of his size, and then gushes ove Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles.
All of them are basically the same size, Bryan might even be the smallest of the three.

Man, I just said as far as I've seen in one interview or podcasts. Bret's said some dumb things but usually his comments are put all together, I've never seen one Bret interview where he's said some dumb things to the quantity and gravity as to what Animal's said here.
As for Billy Graham, I'll shoot from the hip. I've never seen one quote, interview or promo from dude. What I look like lmao?!
Of course others have said worse things, I'm just saying from what I've personally seen.

Okay, can we cool it with wrestling podcasts? Articulate people with something interesting to say like Eric Bischoff or Edge is one thing, but who wants to listen to an entire show hosted by a guy who couldn't cut a promo? Does he just shout nonsense the entire time?
Actually, sounds about right.
