Jeremy Clarkson. When I was growing up I loved the guy on Top Gear and despite all the controversies I recognised it was intentional for the sake of the show. After the catering incident however I've completely gone off him. Working as a TV runner I understand the pressures and work rate that go into that role, and to see a star so contemptuous of those kind of workers is very disappointing. Plus I now find his routine on Grand Tour incredibly stale. Similar note, Hammond. The nice guy mask fell away in the last few years into a middle aged crisis having Clarkson light, without the charm. Stephen Fry another who seems to have bought into his own hype about being a national treasure and placing his own opinion on all topics as having value over others even when ill informed or misguided. A positive change, Madonna. There was a period I couldn't stand her, but in the last few years I've come to really appreciate her music and work ethic. I think the dislike might have been Guy Richie residual. Hammond went straight past arsehole to bizarre, the whole "eating ice cream is gay" thing, can't even begin to understand that.

I used to think Tommy Dreamer was boring as a kid, now I love the dude. Also, I don’t consume anywhere near as much soda as I did in the past and my body has been all the better for it. My diet has become more health conscious than ever really, and I try to pay attention to how certain foods can affect our mood and mental health. Ooh, hard agree on the smarter eating and diet. I used to drink 4 12 oz. cans of pop a day. Then my plant banned cans and open containers (anything without lids or tops, no straws) as a dust concern. Worked down to a single 20 oz. Pepsi, otherwise I drink more water. I never eat lunch at work; I'm not at that vending machine buying chips and junk. (That, and I'm cheap; I always figure 'Whatever money I get paid from here isn't going back into one of their vending machines.') If there's a banquet for whatever reason, I eat just enough to feel okay. (Some co-worker usually tells me "That's all you're having? Have more, eat!" No thank you. Look at these other guys going through 8 pieces of chicken and cake with Buttercream frosting. An hour later they bitch about not feeling good and wanting to go home.) Better cooking at home as well. (Yeah, those On-Cor Chicken Parmesan dinners look yummy, but the Mrs. makes a homemade version with real chicken for about the same price.) I'm not sluggish and tired. That and the better sleep cycle works wonders.

I think he's an insecure guy with the need to be macho when he really, really isn't. It struck me as massive overcompensation. Like the 'Not Gay' song in Popstar.

I'm pretty embarrassed about it now. I'm still kinda sorta an atheist but I'm in a weird place where I'm pretty spiritual. Agnostic kinda sorta works but doesn't feel specific enough I guess. And don't even get me started on the embarrassment I feel about how deeply racist and homophobic I was in high school.

I'll admit to it as well, I used to go off on religion regularly and angrily(kind of another 180 as I was raised as a believer.) At some point, though, I realized that part of that militancy was ONLY for shock value. At the same time, I also realized that I was hypocritically doing the same thing that part of my tirades argued against and coming off as a huge asshole. Fast Forward to today - Meh. I still feel how I feel but have more of a "Live and Let Live" point of view and will only specifically engage in friendly debate on the subject on a respectable level, 99% of the time only with people I know.

When I was a kid, Empire Strikes Back was far and away my least favorite Star Wars movie. Now as an adult, it's my favorite.

(Yeah, those On-Cor Chicken Parmesan dinners look yummy, but the Mrs. makes a homemade version with real chicken for about the same price.) I'm not sluggish and tired. That and the better sleep cycle works wonders. I've definitely watched what I eat in recent years. Those years of hard eating and drinking finally caught up with me. Along those lines I used to be a militant dickhole style of atheist. I'm pretty embarrassed about it now. I'm still kinda sorta an atheist but I'm in a weird place where I'm pretty spiritual. Isn't it 'Live And Let Die', ODB? LOL!
But seriously...
The Beverly Hillbillies: I couldn't stand this show and would mope until it was over or go into another room. Now, I watch it whenever it comes on.
Most of the old Saturday morning cartoons: I loved them as a kid and watched a few recently and they don't hold up as an adult. Way to bland, even the Hanna-Barbera stuff.
Pro wrestling: Loved watching this stuff as a kid (especially the WWF. NWA/WCW never existed in my eyes), but as I get older, I understand why people scoff at it. Rewatching wrestlers kayfabe on old talk shows and whatnot makes me cringe and wonder why people want wrestlers to act like their characters 24 hours a day.

Indian Food: When I was a kid I hated the taste of cumin and curries when ever my parents had or took me to an Indian (or Pakistani) restaurant. Now I love it.

This was 10 years ago when this happened and I think I should talk about this while we're still in December, even though Christmas has come and gone. I wouldn't say that I hated Christmas music, but I was annoyed at some songs when played during the holiday season. However, in 2008, I started to see that it gets me in the mood for Christmas. I started to appreciate it a lot more, enough that I'll listen to it on my own accord. It's been that way ever since, though I still would rather not hear it at the start of November.

I used to find hockey incredibly boring as a kid. After going to a game in college and learning more about the sport, it's honestly one of my favorites and will happily watch a game of any level if it's on.

Agnostic kinda sorta works but doesn't feel specific enough I guess. Paranoid Agnostic? "I believe there's a greater power out there... and it's trying to kill me!" (I remember hearing that years ago during some stand-up comic's routine)I have one... the band Rush. Didn't appreciate the quality of their music until I got older.

Cats as pets. I equated having a cat for a pet as having an annoying roommate who didn't pay rent, and thought anyone who would willingly take on one as having a screw loose, lol. I was very used to the cats that roamed the neighborhood though, and regarded them as day laborers who'd do a quick pest control in exchange for water and a snack.
I guess it was a series of encounters that changed my mind. First I met my boyfriend's grandfather's cat Snowball, who was the friendliest little sweetie. Then, one of the strays who was a regular in our yard got killed in a dog attack, and I was surprised at how upset I was. Last, a tiny kitten wandered into our apartment; I took him to my parents and he became officially their pet. He was awesome. I finally realized my problem wasn't with pet cats, it was with all the crappy cat OWNERS I'd know over the years.

when I was a younger lad going to metal shows I loved being down front and moshing. I'd look at the older guys sitting way back and just kinda nodding their heads a bit. I used to say "I'll never be one of those oldhead types" and nowadays you wouldn't catch me dead in a mosh pit. these old bones just don't have the strength lol.

Country music. There was a time when I had quite a dislike towards it, like I wouldn't be caught dead listening to it. Then at some point, it started to grow on me a bit, then a bit more. It's still not my favorite genre, but I tolerate it more than I used to, if actually enjoy some.

I was a total dog-person since I was a kid. “Dogs rule, and cats drool”. “You’re a Cat-person? Ew”. And then my girlfriend and I had a lil kitten stray wander over to us at 2 am on a random drunk night two years ago. And Trinity just turned two, she lives with my Gf but I love the crazy little furball. And it’s actually made me realize I’m totally a Cat as a person just drawn towards “dog-people”.

Ricky Gervais. Used to love the guy and everything he did. Now I think he's a total tosser.
Hideo Kojima. Worshipped him. After Metal Gear Solid 4 and 5 though I think he sucks.
To be fair I think Gervais has changed not me.
MGS 1 and 3 are still two of my favourites and parts of 2 are still great but after IV and V parts of the dust three have been re-evaluated such as Kojima's disgusting portrayal of women. The guy is a sick perv.
Speaking of sick pervs I used to hate Tarantino's Death Proof and Kill Bill Volume 2, but on a rewatch of his works I enjoyed Death Proof and loved Kill Bill 2. Conversely I found Natural Born Killers (written by him) to be an ugly unwatchable mess of a movie.

I was a big hockey fan until about two years ago; All of a sudden I started finding it incredibly dull. Like, I can't even watch ten minutes of a regular season game now without feeling like time is at a standstill.
