and why did you?
It seems now, at the age of 43, I've just discovered the value of a dollar and after getting rid of a lot of things around the house, I'm at peace with not having to have virtually everything I can get my hands on involving something I like.
Like The Beatles for example-huge fan, and it's sometimes like I need to buy a book or something related to them because I'm a fan, but I now am comfortable knowing that I don't-it doesn't make me less of a fan, so that's my main one-not hoarding stuff and I like the cleaned up space around my house.
You? was the change for the better?

Hoarding stuff. I'd keep sport magazines for years (wrestling magazines) for years on end, as I used to like looking at the pile and flicking through for nostalgic reasons.
I eventually got rid of them for space, and missed them all far less than expected. As such, I know I don't need to keep things any more just for the sake of it.

Me as a bachelor : Why would anybody want a frying pan that wasn't a *no stick pan*!? So easy to clean and food tastes fine!
Me now: Why would I ever want a no stick pan when this old cast iron pan makes food so good, food doesn't stick to it because of the seasoning and it's so easy to clean!

Taylor Swift.
Disliked her for a long time, but once 1989 came out, became a fan

Alestorm- I was dragged to see them twice at Download Festival in 2017. They annoyed me but when I got back home their music grew on me, then when I saw then again earlier this year I had such a great time that I consider it to be the best gig I've ever been to.
Lucozade Orange- Used to be my favourite drink in my early 20s but then they changed the recipe so now it tastes disgusting

Yoga.
Thought it was 'new age BS' and 'too feminine' to get a decent workout in with it since all you're doing is holding stretches...couldn't even get through my first session without collapsing in a ball of sweat and giving up 30 minutes in. Been doing it for 10 years now and swear by it whenever I hear anyone complaining about being stiff and sore all the time.

Not sure how much it'll count but, up until middle or high school, I thought myself very conservative socially and politically because that's how my Dad is and how I was raised. To keep it simple in that area and not break any rules, I've done a COMPLETE 180. Also related to above, I listened to Country and pop music, again, because it's what I was raised with. The turn started in 6th grade when I bought my first Green Day cassette copy of Dookie. Admittedly I only bought it to fit in, but I loved it. Of course, my parents confiscated that tape(because of lyrics, not because it wasn't music they liked overall) but I also got into Metallica that year when Load was released and I heard "Until it sleeps." Granted, they didn't like it, but they let me keep that one and even bought me Ride the Lightning later that year for Christmas.

Jeremy Clarkson.
When I was growing up I loved the guy on Top Gear and despite all the controversies I recognised it was intentional for the sake of the show.
After the catering incident however I've completely gone off him. Working as a TV runner I understand the pressures and work rate that go into that role, and to see a star so contemptuous of those kind of workers is very disappointing. Plus I now find his routine on Grand Tour incredibly stale.

I loathed country music and The Beatles when I was a teenager. As I got older, I realized how stupid I was. Magical Mystery Tour blew my mind and I discovered that there's some country music out there with amazing songwriting.
Keeping with music, I was also a massive death metal fan once upon a time. Now I can barely listen to most of it.

The nice guy mask fell away in the last few years into a middle aged crisis having Clarkson light, without the charm. Stephen Fry another who seems to have bought into his own hype about being a national treasure and placing his own opinion on all topics as having value over others even when ill informed or misguided. A positive change, Madonna. There was a period I couldn't stand her, but in the last few years I've come to really appreciate her music and work ethic. I think the dislike might have been Guy Richie residual.

Same for me , for the longest I thought of yoga as something feminine and refused to do it .Finally tried DDPY a month ago and was instantly hooked. My aches and pains are greatly reduced and I am an overall better mood . To me the effects of yoga are similar to going for a massage

Iman Shumpert.
Wanted him off my team the second they traded for him. Seemed like a buy-out candidate who was only their to match salaries. Hated his game in every other uniform I’ve ever seen him wear.
Within 30 games this season he’s proven to be a solid player, and an invaluable vet leader. Love him and want him around on an extension now.

Saw Blade Runner opening night and hated it. Thought it was the worst film I had seen. I went in expecting a space opera style film with Han Solo.
Years later when I was 16 or so caught it late at night on TV and loved it. Went from being the worst film ever to being in my top 3 movies.
As a kid I hated the tv show MASH. Mostly cause we had one tv and MASH reruns aired the same time another channel was showing Tom and Jerry each week day. Skip ahead almost 20 years I just finished my 4 years in the Army. Some local channel is airing MASH each night after the news....and I love it.

Quite a few things, actually.
Mornings. I was NOT a morning person, or so I thought. Until I started working exclusive day shifts. After a while, "sleeping in" I would get up at 5-6 am. If it's nice out, sit outside just before the sun rises with a cup of coffee. It's calming. I can grocery shop as the stores open and not get swamped with people.
Needing to watch every sports game or wrestling show just because it's on. We have websites for that now, pick them up on radio or watch highlights later. Why sit there wasting 3 hours of your day? I get a lot more done around the house. I'm more creative in what to do.
Another country music convert here. A lot of it is good. Too many people sleep on Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap and Tanya Tucker. (Doesn't hurt that I score points with the Mrs. listening to it, she loves it.)

I used to think Tommy Dreamer was boring as a kid, now I love the dude.
Also, I don’t consume anywhere near as much soda as I did in the past and my body has been all the better for it. My diet has become more health conscious than ever really, and I try to pay attention to how certain foods can affect our mood and mental health.
