Listened to Mark's appearance on Edge and Christian's podcast yesterday and was reminded of how damn great he was during the whole Hall of Pain run. I wish he had gotten a proper final run but apparently Mark didn't want that. But man, he was f***ing awesome. Probably my second favorite monster heel ever only behind Kane.
It's crazy how f***ing great of a promo he became towards the end too. This is one of the best RAW moments ever:

In hindsight I should've seen the swerve coming with Cena out there, but my god, the fake retirement segment was so great and the live thread reaction to it was priceless.
Also, I loved the promo he cut after he beat Orton for the WHC. And I've gotta give Cole credit, he did a great job calling Mark's win.

I've been a fan of his since his Sexual Chocolate days. He won the title on my 26th birthday. That was present enough, for me.

I thought he cut great Heel promos and great Face promos and it's rare to find someone who can do both of those things. He just seems like a really nice guy who's probably a blast to hang out with and I'm glad he's had so mush success in his career.

Also, I've never heard a single bad thing about him regarding backstage behaviour and such.

Mark was probably their best on screen actor
My man was able to get one tear to roll down his face when Rusev had him in the accolade
Mark is the guy you point to for perseverance. Took him almost 20 years before he got his ace gimmick but he finally found the one that clicked after WWE spending years trying to make him a main eventer but he just wasn't getting the response
When he won the title, the call Cole made is still one of my favorites of his

Mark Henry was the reason to watch WWE during this period.

It took him over a decade, but when he finally came into his own, it was well worth the wait. It's just a shame his run at the top couldn't have lasted longer.

His series of matches on Raw against Punk, following Wrestlemania 28 were absolutely fantastic. Mix of great action and superb story telling.

Also, I've never heard a single bad thing about him regarding backstage behaviour and such. Lance Storm told a nice story about how he got kind of banged up during a match with Henry, and Mark carried his bags for him even for a little bit after Lance was 100%. Not out of any "locker room code", but just because he felt so bad that he hurt Lance. Storm also threw in that he tried to tell Mark he didn't need to, it was fine...then realized he had no way of stopping Mark Henry from doing something he wanted to do. Apparently just one of the nicest guys ever, he's still throwing shout-outs to people on the roster on Twitter all the time.

Strange way for a " Gimmick " to be born but iirc , Marks " HOP " spawned from having the living piss beaten out of him by the Big Show after Del Rio had broken Kanes leg.
That was a great feud , Smackdown was the bizz at that time with Orton vs Christian too

Looking back, he should have beaten Cena for the title at MITB 2013. I'm split on this. In one way this was Henry's best run and he should have won the WWE title here but on the other hand we then wouldn't have gotten Bryan beating Cena at Summerslam and the amazing run he had all the way until Wrestlemania 20.
