I was very confident that Sheamus was winning. They were giving him one of those low-key pre-Rumble pushes from about 6 months going into the show where he never won anything all that important but also just about never lost. It was pretty telling how they let him take a countout loss to Mark Henry instead of getting crushed and pinned like everyone else in his path. So anyone calling him an out of left field winner is either using revisionist history, or wasn't paying attention to SmackDown. It was either going to be him or Jericho, and since Jericho never won anything important in WWE post-2008 it was a pretty easy guess on who'd actually get the nod. Big Exception: his loss to Hornswoggle in the Christmas Wish Battle Royal. In hindsight, his need for redemption was an indicator of his victory.

It was better than the 2014 and 2015 Rumbles.
