If you create poor quality products, you open yourself up to criticism. Punk isn't out of line calling out Image's release schedule, nor is Liefeld out of line for defending his work. But I don't like the idea that you need experience in an industry to judge. By that logic, all movies, video games, books, etc. would be immune to criticism.
And I refuse to live in a world where I can't hold J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada accountable for the dreck that is "One More Day".

Mediocre at best is better than anything Rob Liefeld has ever written or drawn, I'm sorry, Liefeld is a turd other people have polished, just like Warrior. You like to selectively defend and quote mediocre talents and yes men when you think you can use it to bash a different talent you dislike for whatever reason, inventing 'rules' of behaviour which you don't apply across the board. Disco Inferno has as much right to criticise the majority of modern talent according to your rules, because he's been n wrestling longer and has made more money. ' Rob Liefeld's biggest accomplishment is being a big part of nearly killing the industry and spending the decades that followed as a punchline, I'm sure that's something everyone who gets into comics because they love the medium aspires to becoming. CM Punk’s Drax was better than xforce, Deadpool or Hawk and Dove?? Get the f*** outta here. Disco can criticize whoever he wants although I’m not sure if he ever drew any money And as I said before Liefeld wasn’t the only responsible person for what happened in the nineties, there were a lot of editors and artist that had a bigger hand than him. Other than that you’re right, Liefeld is the Ultimate Warrior of comics but he drew money something that Punk as a writer has not done yet. Okay though, that's a completely different hierarchy and it doesn't work either. Which made made more money doesn't get to affect whether one can call one out. As a professional writer who has very little money in that career, I can still call out EL James for being a shitastic author even though she's made a billion dollars. This is all very akin to wrestlers' "You can't judge our business unless you've worked in it" BS. It's all crap. Seniority nor comparative level of success do not necessitate respect. No one has to have accomplished anything to be able to look at something and say "nope, that's crap."

Dunno how many of you remember my time working for Marvel, but those who were around will recall I got in a shit-load of trouble with Marvel for posting on here - after the dickhead running Bleeding Cool somehow found it and took it to them - that I felt "One More Day" was the biggest mistake Marvel could make. Almost lost my job with them. Here's the thing - I respect the hell out of Joe Quesada. I respect the hell out of JMS. Joe took a lot of chances as head of Marvel and a lot of those chances paid off, and they're still around because of him. JMS is talented writer whose work in other writing fields helped shape my childhood and I've enjoyed quite a bit of his work. The two of them have done a lot that I can respect and a lot I can respect them for. But One More Day was shit. As a fan, it was shit to me. As a writer, it was shit to me.

JMS did One More Day, but he also did Midnight Nation. The latter gives him pretty much an eternal pass with me.

Dude, I know it's off subject, but thank you for taking a stand on that... that was the biggest middle finger to long-term fans of the Peter Parker character ever.

Also, there's a joke in here somewhere of Punk not being able to get his asskicked by a character with no feet but I can't put it together >_>

CM Punk has the maturity of a 12 year old at times ...most of the time.
