I do agree with this. I think there's still a place for hilariously trashy angles like Mandy Rose vs. Naomi as long as we have a variety, unlike back in the day when it seemed to be ALL they'd do with the women. And I'll agree with that much, even, since that has a clarity of purpose. Alexa Bliss is one of the most attractive women who has ever been under their employ, but I feel like that was showcased MUCH better with the outfit she wore out for the belt segment than we got by seeing her back. So if you're just going for hotness, that's ticking that box. If they wanted to do the whole walk in spot, have whoever is walked in on raise hell and read him the riot act, eyes-popping out, or have some stunt like when Lana was acting like she was going to have a tryst with Enzo, just for Rusev to beat the snot out of him after he fell for the bait. Or even if they're just into it, have it be someone who will play to that, or who would frighten the guy off by being someone "scary" like it be Tamina and Nia comes up behind coffee boy, thinking he's trying something fishy, or even just do that with Alexa, even if Nia and her are on the outs. I imagine she'd still look dimly on a peeping tom. That being said, it's getting a bunch of views, but it's not like this is going to become a regularly occurring segment, so one semi-viral video isn't going to be a game changer for a company who routinely gets a lot of views on their channel, anyhow, even if it's not often like this level. They should keep doing this segment, but with increasingly awkward interns and Alexa isn't in various states of undress but is trying out really odd & abstract fashion choices that would make Vince's 90s Zubaz blush. By the end Alexa is in a full Totoro outfit and the intern is sweating like Ted Striker.

And from a kayfabe perspective, is Graves supposed to be some sleazy dude who'd cheat on his wife if possible? Given how he acts regarding Alexa and the other women and given the fact he's stated he's married on commentary, I'm guessing he's supposed to be that kind of trashy announcer. That's just not a heel announcer, dude's being depicted as a sleazy dude who goes beyond what it means to just be a heel announcer. I wonder how it'll work when he turns face. They'll try to wash all those negativities down the drain. Wait, were Lawler and Heenan and every single WCW announcer not married?

I'm not condoning cheating or anything, but the Corey stuff is hilarious to me because I'm pretty sure dude HAS brought up his wife and kids before in kayfabe.

I don't think anyone would disagree with that. We'll never know, though, and I don't think anyone should make assumptions because she "looked uncomfortable" or whatever. THIS. A MILLION TIMES THIS. We have absolutely no idea how Alexa felt about the segment, and yet here some people are decrying the company for its tone-deaf usage of a woman who dealt with an eating disorder. It is as plausible to suggest that the promo was awkward because, in addition to being absolutely idiotic and poorly written, Alexa, the main actress in said scene, is not known to be the best actress in the company. Focus on the promo being garbage, don't start making up reasons to "defend" Alexa Bliss. You don't have enough information. "She comes off as uncomfortable to me and that makes me in turn uncomfortable because I don't know if that's acting or not" is absolutely about the segment and it being garbage if that is the emotion it is giving the viewer. Media provokes emotions in people and those emotions form the basis of what people discuss with them.

With Graves, he's brought up his wife multiple times in kayfabe whether it be randomly on commentary, in interviews, quotes, whatever. So with that said it sticks out more compared to announcers who don't mention their home lives. With that in mind when he comments on Alexa and the other women you get the impression that his character's a heel announcer that's cheats on his wife.

I take your point, but I don't really see why it's a problem for a heel to have this as a character trait.

Cole and Graves' reactions say it all. Corey Graves looks like he's just turned up to his drug dealer's funeral

Yeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh lmao dude's wildin.
I take your point, but I don't really see why it's a problem for a heel to have this as a character trait. And in nowhere in my post did I say it's bad for his character to have that character trait, I was making an observation based on his character.

@kn Best part of that tweet was the first reply. "You are married though."
I know being married doesn't stop you from finding other people attractive, but still, dude always sounds like he's about to yell for Mandy Rose to sit on his face during her entrances. Cracks me up.

Nah it's all good. I like the fact that his character might potentially be a cheater because he's, well, a heel and that's something many people in real life do. It makes him stand out rather than having him be the regular guy who's mad at the faces and hates the heels. Corey as a whole stands out compared to a lot of heel announcers these past 2 generations so I'm cool with it. @kn Best part of that tweet was the first reply. "You are married though." Forreal lol. I mean he's a heel so I can see how he'd want his character to be and it helps him stand out. It's annoying to hear but hey, he's doing his job.

Yeah, there's admiring someone's looks and there's being thirsty. And Corey Graves coming off like he just came back from the Sahara.

I just love the idea of Corey kayfabe grilling Renee about her own marriage while going around and trying to hook up with other women in kayfabe, like a complete scumbag.

Since it will inevitably come up: The Mandy stuff on Smackdown was better.
Still going racier than some would like, but, it was in the service of an angle, furthered a feud, and was more entertaining. It helped there was more substance to the bit, and it wasn't just "Mandy's in her underwear. Well, that's all we've got, commercial break."

If had an actual purpose and not only that but it falls in line with what her entire character is and it didn't make her feel lesser from a character standpoint. That's how you do it.
