Rusev vs Nakamura is a banger every single time. Dudes gel extremely well together, and Nakamura is someone who can be incredibly hit or miss with WWE Guys. That match-up more than any other makes me wish WWE did talent exchanges with NJPW. I'd LOVE to see what Rusev could do in that environment.

Miz VS Ziggler. I know, they're both roughly the same size and both are trained in the same WWE-style. But Miz is rarely ever lauded for his ring work and people have become apathetic to Ziggler, but there is always such great chemistry when they're in the ring together. Not to mention their promos against one another. They've always clicked together.

During the Kurt Angle v Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania feud, Angle In storyline brought in Marty Jannetty to wrestle on Smackdown .. Thought ok, Angle is gonna get this wash out in the Anklelock in 5 minutes, and the match was really great. One the best of the year.
Strange Jannetty was done after that although I heard he had signed. I watched it recently best match Marty has had he's was a good worker.

I completely forgot about Val Venis and Rikishi. They had some really good stuff together, climaxing in their Cage match for the IC title at Fully Loaded 2000. Really good match. Possibly Val's best, actually.

Ken Shamrock and the Rock. I was not expecting them to jell the way they did, figuring Shamrock would be limited as an MMA guy and Rock was too new to be good enough to carry him. Anytime they were in the ring together throughout 1998 (they had at least four PPV matches), it was entertaining.

John Cena and Umaga-I remember not looking forward to this match at all and it ended up being way better than I thought it would be. Cena choking him out with the ring ropes in their LMS match was brutal. Sold Cena as a champ and Umaga as a dude who was tough af. Fantastic booking.

Cena and Khali actually had a pretty good match. Came in here to say this. Far from Cena's biggest fan but I gotta give him props for somehow getting an entertaining match out of Khali that takes something.

Made me HATE the The Rock, in the way that I should hate him.

Khali and Taker had a really fun LMS match on SD one time as well, though their other matches were not so hot.
Rob Van Dam is the king of this category. Sometimes you'll see something like him vs. Regal and think it would be a total styles clash and it turns out really good. Or against Bob Holly and Test in 2006 era ECW. Really good matches. He and Bigelow had crazy chemistry in ECW. Then oddly enough some matches that on paper look like classics (Benoit, Guerrero) don't quite live up to it.

I'd need to rewatch, but he and Taker had 2 pretty good matches that I can remember (one at Vengence '01 and one on Raw May '02 after Taker won the title)

Marty was always highly talented but he let the drugs take over him
He was better than Shawn when they first started but Shawn eventually over passed him

Watch the first 2 minutes of the 2001 Royal Rumble, Jeff Hardy and Bull Buchanan have the best start of any rumble match. Better than Punk/Bryan, Taker/HBK, Guerrero/Benoit, HHH/Mysterio

Chris Benoit and Rob Van Dam had exactly one match in WWE, and it was awesome. They wrestled a very Japanese style match and Benoit got RVD to move away from his usual routine and work with some psychology for once. Also the hardest body kicks I've ever seen Van Dam throw, and that includes ECW.

That Corbin vs kalisto I think chairs match was way better than I ever thought it would be.

Festus vs 'Taker was awesome, and I'm near sure there was a fun Festus vs Big Show match around that time as well.

I kinda want to say Austin/Angle because their 2001 matches are all fantastic, but since Austin already had some classic matches with similar wrestlers under his belt, not sure if I'd call it odd.
Jericho/Rock may be a good call, though. Great chemistry.

That Corbin vs kalisto I think chairs match was way better than I ever thought it would be. Kalisto for some reason tends to have good matches with big guys that I think are usually better than his cruiserweight matches. Not sure why that is.
