But that's kinda always been the case. Sami did it to Tye last year. Mick Foley famously did it to Test in 2004. Sure, but Foley was TOLD by Austin to go out there after laying Test out. I just feel like guys deciding "screw this, I'm in, then attacking someone and getting in Scott free is played out.

Yea I did not like Nia and Becky repeating spots lastnight because it was so inconsistent....Becky needed permission but Nia can just waltz into the match. Lana was still trying to head to the ring despite everything. Becky didn't try attacking Lana, so getting into the match needed some sort of permission. Nia attacking Truth to get in the match falls under the "Mable attacks Mosh" rule from 1999: beat someone up before they get to the ring and enter the match. The only time this rule had an exception was at the 2015 Royal Rumble, when Rowan tried this on Axel but it wasn't officially considered an entry.

There does need to be a "must enter the ring before the next person gets there" rule.
You can always use "referee/GM discretion" if someone gets beat down before they get to the ring but comes out later. Maybe even write it in that if you are attacked before you get to the ring, the rule no longer applies to you.
Still allows for mid-match leave the ring shenanigans that I believe are a must in a match like this.

If wrestling was real, you'd see people hopping around the outside to get around the both feet rule all the damn time. When we'd do fake Royal Rumbles as a kid where he had to knock people over a short fence or rail or some shit, I'd always piss the others off by lifting a foot up and falling back over the rail and saying BOTH FEET. When that's all your rule says that means it's prime for loopholes and exploitation.

I’m probably in the minority but I’ve never liked Rumbles or battle royals. If I was calling the shots, at most there would only be around 10 people total in the match. You could actually see what’s going on and there wouldn’t be any stalling.

The shenanigans are part of the fun, but they really went overboard last night.

It should be cut down to 20 at the most to eliminate jobbers and tag teams from entering, it’s just a waste of a spot and they get thrown out immediately anyway.

I'm fine with the shenanigans. In kayfabe this is a shot at the biggest prize so yeah people are gonna go all out for it.
But when you have kofi botching his save spot because of Xavier skipping leg day, it really stands out.

Why do you think people run to the ring during the Rumble?
They can’t beat you up and take your spot if you're already in the ring.

Make it like the NFL catch rule, 2 feet, a knee, or a back/elbow/butt constitutes being on the floor.

I don't mind the 2 feet thing. I'm more sick of the beaten up on the outside so we "forget" about them thing.

I don’t understand why an eliminated person is still allowed to eliminate someone. It makes zero sense yet it happens every single year. That and eliminated people and people not even in the match even being allowed to touch the participants is the only thing that bugs me. Other than that I'm all for shenanigans.

I personally would like to see two rules added to the Rumble:
1. You have 60 seconds to enter the ring once the timer hits 0. 2. They do the 10 count DQ to eliminate people taking naps outside the ring.
Of course you can "bend" the rules if you have a good booking idea and whatnot. But the Rumble is getting to the point where you look like an idiot if you DON'T waste time before you get in the ring or you aren't taking multiple naps outside after rolling threw the ropes.

Here's a random question that'll take some research: when's the last time we had a Rumble winner who didn't end out outside the ring at some point in the match? I'm honestly trying to think of someone who made it the entire duration of their match without taking the "winner's powernap" on the floor at some point.

Yeah, The stuff with the Riott Squad was pretty ridiculous. I get that the Rumble has always been kinda loose on the Rules, but there has to be some kind of logical limit applied

You could actually see what’s going on and there wouldn’t be any stalling. Honestly, I don't really disagree, to an extent (I still like them when done well, they're good chaotic fun in those situations). I don't like a match that's built on chaos being used to determine the #1 contender for WM, as it narrows down who can reasonably win and makes it look like the company's trusting their top spot of the year to the luck of the draw, and when it comes to actually making the match itself compelling it feels like they've run out of ideas. Like, there's a great burst of energy when a new entrant comes in and hits a couple of big spots, but after that it's kind of become a lot of nothing. Way too many stretches last night where I couldn't for the life of me remember most of the people in the ring.

I don't really remember, but I seem to recall last year's Rumble being pretty straight-foward.
