So, Baron Corbin makes a few wisecracks about him being small and he summons the demon? He gets a match with the most dangerous man in the business, the man who destroyed John Cena and broke The Undertaker's streak, for the top title of his brand, and he doesn't consider it demon worthy?! For crying out loud. He summoned the demon to face The Ascension in NXT once. But not for The Beast Incarnate?!

I dunno, he came pretty close as it is. I think the reasoning is that he *doesn't* will the Demon to manifest, it just happens or it doesn't, and it wasn't really called for by the feud with Brock given it wasn't exactly that vitriolic leading up to this.

To be fair, he REALLY wanted to kick Baron Corbin's ass. I mean, who doesn't?

I've been made to feel increasingly stupid for having fallen for WWE's booking.

Finn lost control of the Demon, now the Demon controls him. The Demon was like “Nah, I’m good.”

Nah this narrative is much better. Finn having the confidence to do it "on his own" and falling short, only for next time to bring out his alter ego.
The Beast vs. The Demon will mean much more now if they ever decide to do it because he didn't the first time.

Nope, that honor still goes to Sting.

Nope, that honor still goes to Sting. Is it Sting's fault the milkman turned on him?

finn doesn't generally lead off his feuds with the Demon that i'm aware of. usually he goes it "alone" until he feels all else has failed and he has to tap into his inner darkness to bring forth the demon. if they worked it where finn lost, then enters the rumble and wins only to call out brock on RAW " the extraordinary man nearly killed the beast. now it's the demon's turn at wrestlemania." that would make sense. I mean goku doesn't start his fights at super Saiyan god mode (or whatever upgraded level he's at now- i'm only up to the middle of the universal tournament arc at the moment) right off the bat after all.

I mean to be fair I'm not sure what else he could have done. He did hit his finisher but still lost.

In reality, it is the same guy just wearing makeup. But in WWE world, it turns him nearly invincible. Why wouldn't he want to use every weapon at his disposal to win the title?

I'm talking kayfabe too. Hitting his finisher is surely the goal of every match and he did it. What more could the demon have done to help him get the upper hand? He might not have tapped out I guess but I'm not sure how he could have actually won if Brock just brushes off his "best move" anyway.

The Demon is like Banner/Hulk in Infinity War. "No?!, what do you mean,"No?““

My personally head-cannon on the Demon is:
The more Finn uses it the less powerful it is. Maybe there is a recharge factor? Finn doesn't like relying on the Demon and would rather "fight for himself" He can't just tap into the Demon willy nilly. He needs something "more". Kinda like the Hulk needs anger.
So last night was basically Finn wanting to beat Brock on his own; and on top of that Brock hadn't yet tapped into that "something more" that the Demon requires to come out. After that match? Perhaps now the Demon will show up if there is a rematch.
Basically Corbin pissed off Finn/Demon and crossed the magic threshold into "somebody's getting Demonized tonight" territory. Same with Crossdressing Bray getting The Great Pumpkin Demon to show up.

Big Show, who had supposedly lost all of his money in a strip mall scheme or whatever that shit was supposed to be, gave up a multi-million dollar lawsuit for a world title match that he f***ing lost.
Idk if that is the stupidest thing a wrestler has ever done in kayfabe but it's gotta be up there, lmao.

The Demon is like Banner/Hulk in Infinity War. "No?!, what do you mean,"No?““ I'm dying, lmao. Just like when Thanos put hands on Hulk, when Brock put hands on Finn, The Demon was good on all that smoke, lmao. Beat that man into a pacifist.

They could do a story where someone stole his streamer hat, like Kama and the urn.
