They don’t see Rusev as a top star.
And to be honest, neither do I.
I will say this though... there was no need to split Aiden away from them. Especially when they had no plans for either of them separately.
I loved The Vaudevillains and I really want them to come back with Jack Gallagher in Simon Gotch’s place. It would work perfectly and give the tag division a new team.

Like, it’s a bit more complicated but you hire people to make money from them in some way and if you’re not doing something to try and make money from them, especially when people WANT to give you money for them...then what’s the point?

However I just don’t dig Rusev in the ring. I see a lot of people wanting him to be Champion and it’s just like, there’s about 30 other guys on the roster I’d rather see as champion.

Which, again, is fair enough, but I really don’t think personal preference has much to do with the situation in general. I’m not a big fan of Baron Corbin as an in ring worker but if Baron was super hot, in an over stable of some kind and had 70,000 people chanting his name at WrestleMania and they decided to do nothing with him, I’d be saying the same things as people are here about Rusev. If you’re not going to capitalize off of that in any way...why are they there? Why aren’t they in NXT or let go?

They're playing the long game when it comes to putting Rusev in his dancing gimmick.

one of my biggest issues with Rusev is his finisher move, I absolutely hate it... even his secondary Machka Kick is just a superkick, that 500 other people on the roster do.
He needs a new unique finisher to help him stand out a bit more, and get that big crowd pop when he lands it

I really do think Rusev could be a transitional title/main event gatekeeper figure, but also has the versatility to slot in anywhere. So why they'd break up an over act is mystifying. I'm increasingly coming round to the idea of guys like Rusev, Aiden, Cesaro etc. jumping ship to AEW. Cesaro at his best, or with Ohno as a KOW reunion, and Rusev & Aiden as non-copyright Rusev Day, yeah it might at first feel a bit LolTNA but I guess I have faith they'd be at least used better than WWE use them. More a Christian Cage than an Aron Rex.

Unless it's the main event/top stars scene Vince just doesn't seem to give a shit.

I'm not even a big Rusev guy, and I hated how little they did with him. When you see something gain traction, even if it's unexpected, you run with it. You see where it can go. They don't do that. They sell some merch along the way and decide to cut people's legs out from under them. It makes no sense at all.

I think Vince still has something against Rusev. Be it still being bitter over the engagement announcement during the break-up angle. Or the rumor that Vince doesn't think someone as hot as Lana should be with someone that looks like Rusev.
Rusev needs to stop trying to impress Vince. He's never going to do anything of value with him. Go through the motions, get your money, and wait out your contact. That's the best you can do, RuRu.

Show him the middle finger, let Lana sue his ass for harassment etc. Get money, go to another place.

I like Rusev but at this point he's really starting to become the Bulgarian Dolph Ziggler. If you're so unhappy either do something about it or just keep your mouth shut and stop with the woe is me garbage and trying to get people to feel sorry for you. No sympy for you RuRU.

To be honest, that weird promo he did the week after winning the US title seemed like a genuine ‘go out there and do your own thing’ effort with him, then he went out there and shit the bed with this weird tangent about his “animal magnetism” and “smelling like bacon flavoured cinnamon buns” or whatever the f***. It was just awkward and he totally lost the people. It was one of those pretaped shows from over the Christmas period too and they couldn’t even save that shit with the vintage SmackDown fake crowd noise. For whatever reason Rusev Day as a tandem wasn’t in ther plans, and Rusev’s never going to set the world on fire as a solo babyface sadly. He’s a genuinely likeable guy as we see from interviews like this and his stuff on Total Divas, he (or they) just haven’t figured out how to translate that to TV in a singles role. The team with Aiden really was his calling card but WWE will cut their nose off to spite their face, so he continues to her pigeonholed as generic foreign heel in the eyes of creative.

They got over organically. For some reason that I can’t begin to fathom, Vince hates that and feels as though he has to kill it. As long as I live, I’ll never understand that

I mean...that’s the entire point of what he said in the interview with Lillian. That he did everything that was asked and fought for what he thought was working, things that every wrestler that does a podcast says talent should be doing, but nothing changed. Heck, he said in the interview that he struggles in knowing what to do now because everything he pitched and tried didn’t work. If he was consistently saying this stuff and then not leaving when the chance becomes open like Dolph was, you’d have a point but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all.
