It seems weird to me that anyone who is hoping AEW provides a real alternative to the WWE, would also be enthusiastic about Randy Orton main eventing there. He'd bring eyes on them, doesn't mind putting people over, and as mentioned above, there's at least a lot of fresh matches for him. Think of it kinda like how ECW fans had disdain for WWF and especially WCW, but the shock of seeing Sid so far outside of his usual environment got a huge pop and a lot of excitement from them.

Randy Orton at AEW would be amazing. I dont even think that its personal, he is probably really bored there. Still 15years left of wrestling at the same company would be insanely boring for a main eventer like him.

Orton is a multimillionaire, multi time world champion after nearly two decades of being immensely average 99% of the time. He's not going to up and leave to earn less money than he would from the WWE, and having to deal with the added expectation of an audience that expects a higher level of performances. He'll slip into a part time role and become the WrestleMania guy once Taker's legs fall off. If rumors are true, there's a good chance he wouldn't be making less money. And even if they don't offer him substantially more than WWE, if he gets an equal offer plus way less travel? I could see him going. He keeps cashing big checks while spending way more time with his family. That's not a scenario most wouldn't consider.
