"Aleister Black had Andrade the next night on SmackDown which was an opponent he had great matches with in NXT, so it was a really really good matchup and they were able to work that style that they worked in NXT. Look, what I am trying to say is, it was like you can tell there was a big difference, to me, in the feel of those matches. Those guys with this cutting-edge style and with different ways of going into things... and then you go and you see the other guys on the roster that are just working that same kinda, you know, same routines, same way of shooting guys in, it felt all of a sudden very antiquated looking compared to what I saw from the NXT guys." "I think some of the other guys on the roster maybe need to step up and update their game. We just get comfortable in our routines and that's how it worked before, but now you can see wrestling from around the world and all the promotions and everyone has something online you could see. And many years ago you could do these routines and they weren't routines to the fans because they didn't see them as much. So yeah, I just think we get comfortable so it's time to shake things up a little bit." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/02/sean-x-pac-waltman-says-wwe-main-roster-should-tep-up-after-651205/

The main roster has to be allowed to cut loose to begin with. Don't put this on the wrestlers, put this on Vince and company who don't want anything to change at all.

Oh hey, cool, another Attitude Era wrestler that was around during a time of less creative restriction and competition with multi million dollar opposition thinking present WWE is just like that so it’s talent’s fault for not stepping up. We need more of those guys throwing in comments.

We need more of those guys throwing in comments. Yeah I'm getting really tired of people who haven't been around in forever asking why nobody is breaking out and taking chances they're not given or allowed to take. Yeah I'm sure a lot of people in NXT are hungrier than people on the main roster because they want to impress and move up. But the shine doesn't come off overnight for nothing. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles didn't just have a boring match at the Rumble for no reason just like Seth and Dean didn't have a boring match the month before for no reason. They're being so much more controlled on the main roster under all these restrictions than they're being in NXT getting to deliver in a big show environment in a match agented by Shawn f***ing Michaels.

The WWE roster is so loaded that just about 90% of the roster could have a match of the night contender if they are allowed to. X-PAC needs to put down the ganja.

Before you go out there please remember these two most important WWE rules: Don't deviate at all from the script but you gotta step it up.

"Do exactly what you're told, but make sure you step up your game."
Hey, I'd love to see Tyler Breeze go out and wrestle a thirty minute, five star match with Chad Gable, but if anyone in creative suggested any such thing, Vince would laugh them out of the room. He decides who gets the opportunity to even try and put on a good show, and even if you impress him one week, there's no guarantee he'll care the next.

Just reminds me of this
Man: How many of you kids would like Itchy & Scratchy to deal with real-life problems, like the ones you face every day? Kids: [clamoring] Oh, yeah! I would! Great idea! Yeah, that's it! Man: And who would like to see them do just the opposite -- getting into far-out situations involving robots and magic powers? Kids: [clamoring] Me! Yeah! Oh, cool! Yeah, that's what I want! Man: So, you want a realistic, down-to-earth show... that's completely off-the-wall and swarming with magic robots? Kids: [all agreeing, quieter this time] That's right. Oh yeah, good. Milhouse: And also, you should win things by watching.

How can you not agree with this? Most people on the roster do the same sequences every single time like we are back in the old days , except back then you would watch him do that like 5x a year and not every day.
Putting this on other people than the actual wrestlers is also wrong. Just look at former WWE talent , they still cant hang in the indies after WWE so whats the excuse now? You enter the system, realize that it doesnt matter if you have a good match or not and you just stop caring. And I dislike every single one of those people.

How can you not agree with this? Most people on the roster do the same sequences every single time like we are back in the old days , except back then you would watch him do that like 5x a year and not every day. And what does that have to do with the wrestler? If they’re instructed to do the same match over and over again, what do you expect them to do? Do something different and get in trouble? Seth Rollins did that and got scolded for it by Vince. So, again, why blame the wrestler? If the system wants you do something, you do it so you can stay and get benefits from the system. Also I don’t know who you’ve seen recently who can’t hang but CJ Parker is a guy who sticks out whose excelled outside WWE. Neville has too. If you go to a GameStop, you buy something and you get asked about insurance and Game Informer subscriptions or pre-ordering another game by the cashier, what’s the reasoning for that? Is it because that person wants to say all those things or is it because management want them to do that to push sales and hit targets? And to help you out with that answer, it’s the latter. It’s always the latter. The solution is to change the system. There’s no other solution.

As a further point that it’s the system even the absolute top tier workers i.e. Bryan, AJ, Balor, and whoever else you want to include all do the same spots, sequences, etc. as well. Hell, the NXT guys from the other day do the same spots regularly as well.

There are rumors that the Mojo push and Natalya-Dana feud have been scrapped cause this call ups, so it's gonna be tough for some people to step up when they are not on the script.

Doesn't matter what they do in the ring. If not backed by strong booking, it's meaningless.

I thought that said Walmart when I first looked at the thread title and I was like goddamn they really want to move some toys If Walmart demanded better booking of NXT wrestlers, WWE might actually do it. They only ever respond to corporate pressure, or oil rich authoritarian theocracies.
