All I'm thinking is this seems like the Punk situation but with advanced notice. It doesn't matter how much money he's making if he's bored and miserable. The guy married in a gas station,i'm sure he is not a big spender It varies. Chevron still charges you full price for gasoline, but 20% off on expired donuts. Shell, if I remember, gave you a 10% discount on gas. Phillips 66 still doesn't let you use their bathrooms unless you buy something. I'll never get married there again.

The WWE clearly sees a lot of value in Ambrose, both as a singles performer and as a legacy member of the SHIELD. They definitely won't want him to leave. But they put themselves in this hole by having him do stuff he didn't like. I'm sure he was never hesitant in voicing his opinions on the stuff they had him doing. So they seem to be featuring him heavily, over the last week or two, and he seems to have more freedom, but it's impossible to know whether that's an attempt to convince him to stay, or just them losing interest in what he does.
The WWE trusts the New Day to come up with their own material, why not trust Ambrose? At least for a trial period, to see what he does.

“Come on, please stay.” “No.” “I’ll be your friend.” “No... Wait, you’re already my friend.” “Aww, you’re mean.”

Maybe dropping the gas mask/germophobe gimmick was their first step to try and keep him happy?

They're worried about AEW for sure. Cody will get Arn in there as well. If Ambrose goes and see success, that may open the flood gates for others.
If I was Ambrose I would say f*** them. Go make it bigger some place else. There is other places to work now. He was horribly booked and treated after the Shield broke up. Despite being the most obvious overall talented performer of the 3 guys. Better than Roman in ALL aspects of wrestling (better worker, far better promo) and a way better promo/character than Rollins
He could have been this era's version of a main event, Loose Cannon Brian Pillman and they screwed it all up. No point in ending up like Ziggler. Hes too much of an overall talent to be wasted. And obviously he wants more than to just be wasted.
He can go to something MEANINGFUL in AEW with a product that will probably be geared more towards his character are be thrown to the discard pile under the Mcmahons and be stuck in hokey f***ing storylines

offer him a deal where he doesn't have to work house shows and autograph signings Nah, Ambrose loves that stuff. Ambrose purely cares about the creative aspect of it all. A lot of people think that he's one of those "if you pay me a lot I'll do it" guys but according to his documentary and interviews he just loves the special act of wrestling itself. It's pretty great if anyone hasn't seen it. He's really one of those "soul skating" types of that makes any sense.

How Roman can get WWE to loosen up & let Dean do what he wants creatively when he is one of the most scripted guys on the roster?

Yeah a few people have said he's stupid walking away from that much money, but at this point he must already have more money than God, if you're not creatively fulfilled and have enough money to never HAVE to work again, why the f*** kill yourself in this job for just a bit more, while being miserable?

WWE has his replacement already lined up. Every damn time this photo is posted I can't help but try to read the minds of Dean, Seth, and Roman. There's just so much to be said by their expressions.

Hey Vince how about you be the one to try and get Dean to say instead of constantly using other people, it's your damned fault, you fix it.

Really hoping Ambrose doesn't cave just because they sent his buddy to try to bring him back in.

Even if he's getting paid less elsewhere he's still gonna be making tons of money. I hope Roman is unsuccessful in his mission. WWE's conundrum with Ambrose is hilarious in a way. Ambrose has done every dumb thing they have asked him to for years with saint like patience. It seems all he wants is to not do stupid shit anymore and they just can't commit to it.

Let's have Reigns convince Ambrose to stay so he can be Reigns' lackey for the next 10 years.
You cannot make this stuff up folks.

Roman really is the workhorse of the company. Battles leukemia, shows up to try to help save the ratings as another McMahon-centric story diminishes interest in even the hottest angle. Now he is expected to carry management’s water after they have failed managing talent. #Workhorse 🤙🏻🤙🏻

<Dean> I want to open people up with ice picks and staple guns, CZW-style.
<Vince> We've been over this. No.
<Dean> Can I at least have my theme start with a clip of Zandig shouting "JEEEEEEZUS!"?
<Vince> *sigh* No, Dean.
<Dean> Peace, you stingy old bastard.

He understands money. If he makes a lot of money, nothing else matters. He can't see someone giving up a lot of money for any reason.
