You know what I miss the most? The days when Twitter didn't exist, thus, wrestlers couldn't use it.

I wonder what Jericho's referring to. “Well, bro, David Arquette was holding the WCW title on the front page of the New York Times, Bro! That means people are talking about it! WCW is back in business, bro!” - Vince Russo in 2000, probably

to be fair I already wasn't going to buy the network when Charlotte was added. Now in probably not even going to chill somewhere else and watch the match . Unless the rest of the card becomes something amazing I'm not sure how others feel at this point, but I still think it just needs to be Rousey and Lynch with Lynch pinning her/submitting her clean as a sheet. Becky obviously has the brighter future in the company. To me, Charlotte still feels like an unnecessary throw-in. Ronda getting "You tapped out!" chants before throwing a huge temper tantrum and "quitting" on Raw the next night would be fun. If they don't want to do a submission finish, they should start treating the Lass Ride as a legit match ender.

This whole behind the scenes thing, breaking kayfabe, social media, this whole thing makes me love something like NXT more and it reminds me to how things were when I was a kid. Back then in school it was very early early during the "dirtsheet internet days" so I didn't know a thing about what was going to happen, why it was happening, the only thing I knew was on tv and how the wrestlers conducted themselves during actual magazine interviews. These days all of that stuff's as connected to the actual product it's hard to get away from the two.
NXT does a very good job of it. I never have to worry about anything there screwing up or being too behind the scenes but part of me wonders if that's because it's taped. Who knows how NXT would be had it been live every single week along with the live Takeovers and we'd be critiquing it week in and week out.

We can search up the process about how a modern film gets made and there have been referential films about the subject but the film industry doesn’t put that stuff into productions and expects you to pick up the latest Variety or Hollywood Reporter to find out if Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington actually hate each other or if it’s a “work” for Game of Thrones.

Chris Jericho is an exceedingly talented wrestler. He’s entertained me immensely over the years. But he seems like a real dick.

Given we're going to see more shenanigans, who knows how outlandish it'll get. The problem isn’t that. It’s the business not being able to separate itself from that. Very very true.

Wrestling has never really recovered from the hangover of the Attitude era/Monday night wars/ECW. It’s going to take someone somewhere to get hot with something new and exciting before things get better. We all know that it’s not possible for that to happen in the WWE, so we’re left with someone else to do it. Hopefully AEW can get hot with something new and different, but that’s a ways away. If it ever happens.
In short we’re goin to have to deal with this bullshit for a long time......or at least until we all tap out.

I've gone from being probably more invested in this story than I've been invested in years to the point where I just want it over with. I'm one of the ones who said give Ronda a chance and I am eating those words. They've turned what should have been glorious poutine into a shit sandwich. Reactions aren't enough, especially when they don't make the audience want more. I sure as hell am not more connected to this story.

I do not like this build, but I think the WWE is just leaning into the fact that the hardcore fan base cares more about backstage and online news than he actual show. They watch the show just because it creates the real thing they are actually entertained by. This is the new kayfabe, it’s a real mind f*** if you actually think about it.

I don't like this new trend of meta storylines, contradicted by worked shoots, multiplied by real kayfabe, subtracted by fake script breaking. The whole thing is confusing and I need a spreadsheet to keep track of who I'm supposed to cheer, boo, who's a good person, but a bad wrestler, who's a good wrestler, but kills kittens in their personal life. It would be a lot easier to follow if I could just go "Face=Cheer, Heel=Boo".
With that said, The women's triple threat at Mania. Will still be the match I'll be most glued to my screen for when 80% of the show will be missable. Sure, I'm interested for partially for the wrong reasons and the WWE could of made me interested in a lot easier ways. But at least this storyline is something. Whereas most of the WWE right now is nothing.

The pipebomb angle worked for Punk because every single thing he said and did (pre HHH) was in kayfabe. FANS decided to take that and run with it.
But....you know that's a very weird situation. That can't be done all the time, nor can everyone do it. This is an example of people simply not understanding the careful crafting and handling such a situation requires.
The worst thing some fans here had to say about Punk was that "the storyline doesn't make sense, how can he leave with the title?" No one had to say "he's called wrestling fake....did WWE allow that or is he just breaking down?"
If you can't walk that line of presenting such a storyline that falls on all cylinders of kayfabe, yet is presented so convincingly that people buy into it being 100% real (Hogan/Earthquake is another example).....
Then don't do it. Just build the characters and make that the storyline. Use your zany skits. I'd rather Ronda crash a semi into an ambulance where Becky lies than this.
Save that extra level of line walking for the once in a moon opportunities that actually benefit from it.

I wasn't going to comment because I'm a Ronda fan to the point of bias, but as a big fan of Becky as well, I genuinely think she crossed a line bringing Ronda's husband into it. It was all just within the lines of kayfabe and standard pro-wrestling Twitter feuding, and then Becky brought family into it. If Ronda's shooting here she's a moron who's lost her cool but I can't blame anybody who loses it because of a slight against their family.
And if WWE is either a) suggesting Ronda say wrestling's fake or b) happy for her to do it without punishment, they're morons too.
Basically, nobody, not WWE, Becky or Ronda comes out looking good here.

To me this whole thing comes like Ronda is imploding and WWE is desperately trying to spin it to hide this fact. Although either way, it's certainly having the exact opposite effect from having me wanting to watch the match. Especially given if Ronda does anything unprofessional at Mania it's sure as hell not going to be trying to turn it into a real fight, it's going to be no-selling shit and storming off in a huff like her name was Austin Aries.

So...make your product actually compelling to watch? Like, maybe I’m talking out of my ass and I don’t understand the business now but...don’t presume most of your audience cares about that stuff because you based a product 20 years ago around it and that was what got ratings? Because the American and European indie booms weren’t made from PROGRESS having storylines where Mark Haskins said the business meant nothing to him or OTT having storylines where Jordan Devlin said MMA was better.
