How the hell are you so coddled and/or stupid to not figure out how to do a freakin' admissions form? Aunt Becky, you failed your kids. And this city.
Like, when I did college admissions, my parents sat down with me as I filled them out. But that was more for moral support as well as for certain information I didn't know off the top of my head. I actually filled them out myself.

Like, I can't begin to do justice to how screwed the higher ed system is in the States right now; tenured professorships are drying up everywhere, adjuncts are getting paid barely poverty wages to work at multiple schools and literally live in their cars sometimes, tons of great schools that specialize in critical thinking are being ignored and losing all kinds of funding because they aren't "preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow" (such a loaded, substance-free phrase that I want to vomit just typing it), but don't you fret! We're going to hire football coaches for +$6 million a pop, we're gonna dump millions into the stadium, we're going to install a fancy dining hall or a rec center while slashing all kinds of benefits that allow students to actually live and learn in a stable environment, and we're going to hire administrator after administrator to bloated deals to oversee new departments that have literally nothing to do with education, academia, critical thinking, or the entire reputation that these schools were supposedly built on in the first place! And don't forget, you'll get to pay $60,000 a year, plus thousands for textbooks, to get the privilege of attending!
Meanwhile, we've convinced so many parents that their special little guys and gals NEED to get into Harvard, Yale, USC, Vandy, or any number of other "first choice" name schools with massive endowments or else, GASP(!), their kid might not become a high powered broker, or financier, or medical specialist (no, not a general practitioner, don't be crazy, they just help and save millions of people when they could be getting paid so much more, right?), not unless they go to just the right school to give them just the right piece of paper after 4-5 years and make just the right connections to get them hired at some firm where somebody who might've been in the same frat as them is in a management position. Because that's the only way for little Tucker or Bella to be successful, right Glenn and Shannon?
There are reasons all this nonsense is happening, and all of it stinks. There are tons of college educators still out there doing their damndest to keep academia strong and relevant, lots of students who want to become critical thinkers, and yes, many administrators who want to do the right thing, but the tide is increasingly against them as we keep pushing people to view college as a competition that must be won instead of a place to pursue what it's supposed to be: higher education. But now even state schools are losing funding left and right and thus upping tuition to unaffordable levels (even for in-state residents!), small colleges are dying, and the big ones are acting like mega corporations instead of schools.
All along, there's a great tragedy to it all: there is zero shame, and lots of money to be saved, in pursuing a plan like attending county/community college for two years, getting your Associates Degree, and then transferring your credits to a four-year institution to finish your Bachelors. Because, surprise! It turns out that unless there are specific programs or professors you're looking to study under, where you go to college most typically means absolutely nothing compared to the actual education and credentials you're supposed to gain along the way!
But no, can't have people thinking that; have to make everyone look at everybody else as a competitor, as someone who's in your way, because screw society, MY kid needs to get into a big name school because that'll make me look like I've succeeded as a parent, or something!
I need a beer.

500k to get into school jeezus
Pff send me off to Kings Dominion sure I would have the looming threat of getting killed around every corner by every student but wont be any different than public school anyways and I would not have to pay 500k for the same experience.

Just read a whole article about this. Makes my stomach churn, ESPECIALLY the part about faking Learning Disabilities.
Knowing that I got a break in money because of my real disability and still having to fight for my diploma because I took a semester of for mental health issues f***ing pisses me off.
At what point do we say we need to take action with more than "I'll take a stance on twitter?"

It’s probably not that she couldn’t do it, but more like she didn’t want to put the effort in. She was raised wealthy and she’s spent the last several years of her life being given gifts and money for looking pretty and having Instagram followers

Also of note, when the Fyre festival debacle happened you know how many Instagram "personalities" apologized for the snafu? ONE! Surely, it's not me who is the crazy one right?

It’s a great way for a company to reach the type of people they want to sell their product to. She has 1.4 million followers who you have to assume check Instagram every day so that a big get for some of these companies . Unfortunately it’s created the “social media personally” who are basically offshoots of everything Kardashian

Instagram from what I learned watching those videos from channels from The Richest that do top 10s of varying subjects is that it is just a haven for wealthy jackasses to talk shit and brag about..wiping their ass with 100 dollar bills etc.
And thirsty instagram models

If you have this kind of money, buy your kids some Pizza Huts or something. Legal, and they'd probably get more out of that than their degree.

I'm genuinely baffled as to how Aunt f***ing Becky, of all people, has "bribe your kid's way into college" money. Is she less B-list than I thought?

Saw this on twitter. Some of the responses on there are absolute gold. Aunt Becky’s spin-off is going to be called Big House. 😂
