Boy if we all thought mid life crisis Macho was pathetic, let’s not ever discuss his tna run Tbf Mach did eventually move on from wrestling and lead a happy life unlike Flair and Hogan.

Should have stayed in WWE. He would have been stuck in the commentary booth, extremely unhappy. That said, I wonder what he would have been like in ECW. Granted, it would be a big pay cut, but he definitely would have fit in (especially if he goes back to Memphis-style Savage), and maybe it could have gotten them some mainstream exposure or a tv deal.

I would have loved to see Savage against Scorpio, Funk, Sandman, Storm, Benoit, Malenko, Jericho, Eddie, Sabu, Raven, Cactus, even New Jack would be fun (He actually did wrestle Benoit in WCW, but AFAIK, he never had matches against any of the other guys).

I agree, Savage made the right move leaving WWE. Sure he had to be in Hogan's shadow, but he got a nice payday and a chance to have a few dream matches. While Hogan was the top star, because of Hogan's limited in ring ability, Savage carried the load and was more of the "workhorse" and gatekeeper for the nWo. Of course Savage deserved better, but he wasn't getting that in WWF at the time and I can only imagine by the Attitude Era, he would just have DX and the Rock calling him a geriatric. ECW would have been interesting. Let's say in a perfect world, they can actually pay Savage, because Heyman's crap wouldn't fly with him. I think Savage would have been a fit in ECW and Heyman would have known how to book him.

No one's said it?
Ok only me then.
I enjoyed his short time in the NWO. I always associate his WCW time as part of that group, both black/white AND Wolfpac. I think the look, the gimmick suited him well. My ultimate NWO group would always include him.
And had he not hurt his knee (and had WCW not messed up post FPOD), who knows what part he would have played for the NWO elite, maybe joining Goldberg to help dismantle them.

Knowing what we know now about Savage's personal struggles with OCD, I can't see him putting up with ECW's lackadaisical structure and Paul's tenuous relationship with truthfulness for very long. It would have been amazing television, but there's a good shot Savage would have been have miserable fairly quickly.

The second Heyman would’ve lied about a check being misplaced Savage would’ve killed him.
