I was going to post a longer post, but since this seems to be a weirdly sensitive topic all round I decided to limit my thoughts to: If you like this stuff, good for you. But personally, the more time passes the more I agree with Cornette about Joey Ryan, and my opinion is that this is little more than fetish porn. And to everyone who says just don't watch, well, yeah, I don't plan to. But I do plan to watch AEW, so if this is the sort of shit Joey Ryan is bringing to AEW, that massively hampers my interest in the first viable American alternative to WWE in 18 years. So yeah, that's why I'd rather these two just go the f*** away forever. If you don't have that opinion, or if you like this, good for you, but this actively turns me away from wrestling and would put me off any show either of them appear on. And I doubt I'm the only person who feels this way. I definitely agree if this is where AEW is going, no thanks. If Joey Ryan and Priscilla Kelly want to do this on a small indy show where they have top billing, okay since this is what fans probably expect anyways. Can't wait for their Wrestlemania equivalent show where the penis druids return and this time they're spewing vomit from the tips. But it's all in the name of art of course.

But Watching this idiot puke on the other idiots dick is ridiculous. Hope my Kids don’t stumble across this crap

I'm too desensitized to most entertainment to be either amused or offended by this.

I thought it was funny.
Then again I’ll probably laugh at even the lowest form of comedy.

Look...I get these kinds of gross-out moments are meant to be something that makes you remember who it was that was involved. I didn't honestly know who Priscilla Kelly was over two months ago. Since then, the only thing I've heard about her is the tampon spot and now this. I couldn't tell you one thing about her professional wrestling abilities or promo talent, ONLY that she's done some sick things in the ring to get her name talked about. If that's what she's wanted in her professional career, more power to her. I won't be going out of my way to watch anything she's involved in if this is what I can expect from her matches, but that's only my opinion really. I actually think that's the only downside to this. Priscilla is actually a very good wrestler and has a great character. Very goth, very twisted. Almost something of a toned down more sinister Nikki Cross.

If people want to pay money to see this stuff then sure. Also think it's weird how hardline people get about defending this. Dont see this kind of behaviour on any other topic on this board. You can like what you want but you can also dislike what you want. You dont owe anyone a justification. Just because you think this sucks doesn't mean you were ok with the million times the WWE threw piss, shit or vomit into the mix. The bar has been set pretty low. Doesn't mean I have to embrace this as "art".

Of course it has no place in wrestling. I even find Matt Riddle wrestling barefoot and having other wrestlers manipulate his toes gross.

Honestly I read about this yesterday and fully came in expecting to hate it, but that is actually really tame and quite funny I thought

This thread illustrates perfectly how multidimensional is wrestling actually. Individual perception of what someone expects from wrestling varies quite a lot. To some it's just mindless entertainment, to some it's about adrenalin choreographed high spots and insane moves, to others it's all about mic skills and verbal exchange, to you it might all be about the build up and in ring phycology while to your friend it should be all about realism and breaking kayfabe like this guys is for real. Quite beautiful stuff.

Decent wrestler, but I think her character, promos, facial expressions, and mannerisms are what she's best at.

Precisely, but with that said the companies that push these people need to be aware of the audiences they are trying to target. I'm a huge fan of everything The Elite has done (and hell, even Joey Ryan's stuff is tap dancing on that edge of entertaining for me), but if AEW ends up signing Kelly and makes these kinds of moments an expectation, it'll be tougher to convince my non-fan wife to let me take our kids to any of their events.

I completely agree but let’s cross that bridge when we come to it. AEW hasn’t even run a show yet. I understand the concern but I think they’re smart enough to know a family friendly approach is going to get and keep more eyes on their product. I don’t see them pushing this on the general public, especially if they do get a television deal.

This isn't coming from anything except pure speculation but the best case scenario for this stuff would be that they bring people in to play modified versions of their indie characters but for a family-friendly audience and then they can still go to the shows like Bar Wrestling and do whatever wackiness they want to. Like, I know the narrative on Joey Ryan from some people was that he was a nobody until he did the Dickplex stuff but well, he was enough of a name on the scene to get to TNA at one of it's more popular times along with Lucha Underground so he can play characters that don't have powerful dicks. I'd presume Pricilla Kelly can too.

And that's FINE. But stop moralizing over it like your preferences carry any weight. If you don't like it, my friend Paul Anka has some advice for you:
What? We all, you included, spend tons of time all over this board talking about what we like and don't like in wrestling. Why is this topic above criticism? I don't think anyone's saying it's above criticism. More that it's not too lowbrow in an industry where a woman gave birth to a hand. Everything about Joey Ryan is annoying to me and grossout humor generally isn't my thing, but this has an audience and it belongs as much as anything else. To summarize: "I didn't like this". - Aok. I didn't either. "Wrestling is too dignified for this" *adjusts monocle* - lol, bro

Muta (yes, that Muta) got a lady pregnant with a demon baby in HUSTLE, a comedy/story promotion. Tajiri was involved too if I remember right. Ok.... This has me interested! LOL
