I understand what you're saying. People use hyperbole too much. Like if you rate this wrestlemania buildup 1 to 10, with 10 being amazing and one being worst ever tv show, he would vote 0 and say that because he's not looking forward to it, that means it automatically gets the lowest score reserved for Heroes of wrestling quality ppv, even though realistically this ppv build is nowhere near that.
Of course the reasoning is.....
Because it's their opinion and they have the right to be as hyperbolic as they like. Who are we to tell them how to vote, or it's not that bad?
There is no objective lowest value to a bottom tier rating. Things that aren't as bad than others can still be given the same worst rating seal of quality if they're also bad. I'm not going to be generous on a garbage product cause there's also worse out there. I value it on its merits alone and the fact it's still not good is the problem. Everything doesn't have to be relative, and it's not hyperbolic to say so.
I don't think you have to be generous, and in no way am i telling you that you must vote one way or another.
I just agree with lowest values on a 1 - 10 scale being worthless if we never use any low numbers under 5, or D here I suppose.
For me, a 2 doesn't mean it's amazing somehow. That's still a big big failing. But it's rare to give out an absolute 1 or 0.
Does this mean if it was 1 - 1000, you'd still give it the lowest rating possible? That no matter the scale, this ppv deserves the lowest value? We both know that's not true. So you can tell me to shut up because on this scale given by the TC, that's what you want to give it. Because that's how you feel and that's what you want to do. I can dig that little homie. No offence was meant, just discussing with the other dude there.
Over analysing is what we do here best!
