I have no earthly idea what they are doing with Omega but it's a bad idea. Like mega huge bad idea. It's the sort of thing Tanahashi has been doing in NJPW but first off Tana was like 40 when they started the "He can't win the big one" bit and Omega is 35. Second, AEW is a new company and Omega is obviously the guy who should be their ace and top guy. This isn't even a serious debate. As it is, you have a new company with the hottest free agent in the business that fans have heard about for the past few years, and he's jobbing on major PPVs. There are times to do a redemption storyline with Omega and this is 100% not that time. Try 4 years from now after he's had the AEW title 3-4 times. Instead I think they're just killing him off out of the gate, causing fans to immediately lose interest, and it is just utter and complete booking madness. So is he now facing Moxley at the next PPV? Does it matter? He just lost on PPV to a guy last seen in America jobbing to ENZO AMORE. Wasn't the whole point of not doing Page/PAC at the previous PPV that PAC refused to go over there because it meant he'd be jobbing at this PPV to Omega? Now that he dropped his 2nd rate belt in Japan you can freely bring him in to put over Omega, but he goes over? For what possible purpose? To have him vs. Jericho in a heel/heel title match that no one will care about? I mean look at that main event last night. You have a washed up 49 year old guy against a 27 year old guy that isn't remotely there yet. Gee, if only they had a 30 something guy in his relative prime they could build the company around. Oh, wait. They do! TV hasn’t even started yet. Judging by their early track record, they’ll be fine.

Is Tommy Dreamer still doing his Dusty Rhodes tribute shit? Are they even connected in any way other than sharing the word "Dream" in their names? At Starrcast 1 I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Tommy Dreamer and Dave Millican about what territories aired in their local markets when they were growing up. Tommy said he was a really good baseball player and he wanted to play baseball as a career... Until he saw Dusty Rhodes on TV. He said it completely changed his life and after that he wanted to be a wrestler and no longer wanted to play baseball. So yeah, to say Dusty had an influence on Tommy's entire life would be an understatement.

He had an ongoing story with Dragon Gate where he was supposed to be this great champion and losing to at AEW would have undermined that.

The Rock praised AEW last night, loving Arn's appearance.
Time for HHH to erase all footage of him again

I'm not really feeling it myself but I think it's supposed to be an homage to the WWF women's belt from the 80s.

Somewhere way down the line, I want a 10-man tag of the Bucks, Private Party and Jack Evans vs. Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Marko and Best Friends...just so it could be billed as the Jackson 5 vs. Jurassic 5!!

You want to go back even more: It's happening because "Okato" and "Generation Me' met in TNA, and Okada put in a good word for those Buck guys. AEW is basically born from the collective hubris of WWE and TNA this decade As well as the incompetence of ROH. I can't help but feel if ROH played their cards right, or if Sinclair gave a damn this could have been them in this position.

I know I'm late to this but I've only just got round to watching the Buy In. But.... Private Party are 100 levels of awesome. AEW could have a big big deal on their hands here.

Daniels been wrestling for like 23 years and still looks like he did in 2007. HOW? Arn Anderson Syndrome. You might be on to something. When you go bald that early in life you can't really look any older. The worst has already happened.
