as I said on a previous thread, knowing how lazy the writers are ,as well as how Vince always does the same thing over and over again ,I predict what's going to happen is Kofi is going to keep his goofy personality and he and his buddies are going to suddenly turn the belt into a pancake belt
They'll also write it so that they're going to take up 80% of SmackDown , maybe even more Gauntlet matches, they're going to do a Lucha house party like style of defending the belt meaning heel or face wants to face kofi has to go three on one or there's going to be Mass outside interferences and the writers and Vince will be confused why the fans are suddenly going to turn on them while they continue to write him as a face even though all they'd ever do is heel tactics.
They'll probably impose some kind of Freebird rules and it's just going to be a nightmare because they're so convinced that new day merchandise salesare hot so they're never going to want to split them and they're not going to turn away pancakes and cereal sales so you will see the world belt turn into a joke prop.
No disrespect to kofi it's not his fault but that's just the way this company has been for decades

New Day has always been presented as the guys who are silly as f*** but will absolute whip somebody's ass. There's zero reason to change that formula It's all fun and games until the bell rings. It works for them, they have the ring skills and the comedic chops to make everything line up perfectly, and it's pushed them into heights of all-time tag team greatness already. Now it's the leg up to give Kofi the world title and cement a hall of fame career. Can't understand a world where variety in the show isn't a good thing and letting this sort of act have a run up top isn't a nice break from things. The last face champ we had with the belt was very serious and kind of a drag. Pancakes and all they are still the ones that were in one of the most brutal Hell In a Cell matches of recent history. |

This is one of those situations where I could care less about the quality of his title reign. I just want him to have a run with the belt in any shape or form because he 100% deserves it.

Kofi was on balance always the most serious of New Day anyway.
Big E has the "sexual creeper" thing, and Xavier's got the trombone and the "gamer geek" stuff that they openly make part of their on-screen presentation.
Kofi's been the more grounded one and presented more as the "family man" ("Real Mega Dad of the Year") of the group.
