A good portion of the beginning of the Gabe episode was taped Wrestlemania week in Orlando. I was there for the Page/Allin match.
Funny seeing Tracy Williams referred to by his shoot first name in that one clip too.

I think that these are neat and all, but it does kinda feel like they occupy an odd place. A non-fan often could probably do with some more context, and if you are a fan, you might already know a lot of this stuff.
As primers, they work, but none are likely going to be definitive tellings of some of these stories, if such a thing were possible.

You know who’d be a pretty good episode for season two? Davey Boy Smith

Are the extended cut episodes worth watching if you’ve seen the original ones? How much new stuff is in them?

Tonight is the STARDOM episode, which is part of a wider focus on Japanese wrestling culture and obsession. Mostly focuses on Mayu Iwatani, Jungle Kyona and Kris Wolf, though the likes of Io Shirai, Toni Storm and Piper Niven also feature. Apparently there's quite the backstory when it comes to Iwatani.

Tonight's episode is about women's wrestling, featuring Mia Yim. Fair warning, there's domestic abuse discussion on this one.
EDIT: And also an episode about lucha libre.

The Macho Man episode was good, but it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.
The Screwjob episode was hilarious. It was basically the wrestling version of Rashomon: everyone telling a different version of the same story. And, of course, Vince Russo is the most full of shit. He's saying that the Screwjob was his idea, yet I've always heard that he didn't even know what a screwjob was when it happened and had to have the concept explained to him.
The Brody episode: HOLY SHIT!!!!
The Von Erich episode was just depressing. I'm just amazed that Kevin is still around because it seems like that family was just cursed.
The Gino episode was very enlightening to me since I didn't know much about him. He could have been big if he had lived. I don't think he would have made it to Vince's neck of the woods, but Gino would have easily fit into the Four Horsemen. I could see him being like Sting, a huge player who never signed with WWE for a long while. But, drugs f***ed all that up. And, yeah, I believe it was an overdose. Yes, there are some suspicious things surrounding it. But, I think the most damning part, overdosing on 5 times the amount of cocaine to kill a person, can be explained by the fact he just a huge cokehead who developed such a tolerance that it would take the amount to kill a rhino to finally do him in. It's just a case of Occam's Razor; overdose is the most obvious answer.
The Moolah episode was weird. I don't understand who Victoria could be so mad with Moolah yet still defend her. Nor do I understand how Wendi Richter had no clue that Moolah was in the Spider Lady outfit. Though, I can see why her daughter would be so upset with the backlash. Moolah was a big figure in women's wrestling. But, she is a big reason why it was a sideshow act for so long.

If I was in a traffic jam and two luchadores came out and had a match right in front of me, I would lose my mind.

I never heard about Mia Yim's domestic abuse until this show. I immediately got concerned that Fest Wrestling was currently booking him but Mia actually dated his tag team partner. I know at one point she was dating one and Leva Bates was dating the other guy.

Tonight's episode of The Wrestlers focuses on DDT, followed by an episode set in Canada (though what it's about more specifically I don't know yet).
Who's the super-skinny guy doing the Milano Collection AT bit?

Both episodes this Wednesday were good. I had seen the Canadian one last week. The Shadow Xtreme wrestler from that episode had uploaded a SD rip of the episode to his Youtube channel almost a year ago.
The DDT episode was interesting. I never got into DDT. But was neat learning the history of the promotion.
The CWF touring the First Nation rez episode was really good. Seeing the crowds that were 75% kids that were really getting into the matches was soooo good. Reminded me of all the outdoor and high school gym shows Powerslam Productions use to have. My only complaint about the episode is I would have liked to have had more time spent with the NOAH guy that was on that tour. Just to see his thoughts on what had to be a very very strange environment to him.
Both my parents have watched every episode of The Wrestlers so far. Dad it didn't surprise me he is enjoying it,cause over the past 2 years he has started watching NJPW,MLW and LU. But my mother hasn't given a crap about wrestling since Watt's UWF shut down. And before then she only really paid attention if Steve Williams was on screen. She is loving the WRestlers series. And mentioned how she is really looking forward to next week's episode about Mexico's Exoticos.
