To me it was DX openly mocking Vince over being a dick.

I mean Waltman told his co-host that it was a bad situation and it's not funny that the guy lost his job. He even said that he didn't say the responsibility was on the guy who was fired so he gets it. I took that last segment as DX poking fun at Vince's attitude especially given they know Vince hates when people do that. Rather than making light of the guy getting fired, they were pissing off Vince.

Honestly, I get it. If I really got cussed out over something as simple as someone saying "thank you" on a night that's supposed to be celebrating people within the industry, I'd be outta there. No job is worth your sanity. This is why I'm throwing your cowardly ass through the Barbershop Window. The TWERKIN' Magic Express Explodes, PAL!

Only Vince could make not wanting to be praised a megalomaniacal act:

Also, if DX really did a whole bit based off a guy getting fired, what does that say about them as people? That they're not all bad and were trying to make it obvious to Vince how stupid he was acting? They could just talk to dude, lmao. I get the intent but there was obviously gonna be zero reprecussions for them. They were never gonna be on the firing line. If you're gonna call it out, be direct. Straight up say, "hey, by the way Vinnie Mac, you really shouldn't be taking these name-drops seriously." So, if that's what they were trying to do, they obviously didn't do that great of a job at it. *shrug* It's just a very weird way to go about it considering that one of the folks involved is literally Vince's son in law.

Really? I didn't get that at all. They thought if they went overboard with it in their speech, Vince would lay off the other guy. Dilution. Ahhhh I see. Man I am such a misanthrope these days, expecting the worst of everything. I need to work on that.

Doing something publicly in an exaggerated fashion isn't a bad way of protesting something. Frankly, I wouldn't even say the Vince stuff got as much reaction as anything else in DX's speech.

Talking to Vince, even if you're his son in law, on Wrestlemania weekend isn't happening. You guys are so ready to pitchfork every person except the ONLY person responsible.

Can’t pinpoint the source, but it was brought up on this forum some years ago. I apologize for not having anything more reliable. I believe it was a thread sharing the horror stories of being on creative.

That is horrible. Biggest weekend of the year for that man and he loses his job over petty shit like that. f*** you, Vince. You know what I don't get? Why does no one whoop his ass? Forgive me if this is out of line, but put yourself in that guy's position. I'm working my ass off to the best of my ability. I am giving everything I have to this company and I randomly get fired because someone said his name in a speech? If I am that guy, as soon as he fires me, I'm slapping him in his 167 year old face and calling him a stupid old bitch. I know that my reaction may seem extreme, but Vince McMahon is pulling food out of this guy's children's mouths and making them struggle over something stupid like this. Yeah, I'm beating his ass and taking my chances. Knowing the way that company works, the next day Vince is hiring me back with a promotion and raise. 1. This is a tad bit (whole lotta) ridiculous. Assault isn't the answer to deal with workplace frustrations. Come on now. 2. A couple actually have gotten physical with Vince that we know of. Nailz and Bret

Oh I skipped like 4 pages lol Anyways regardless of how wrong it is I gotta say I'm shocked I could only name two names off hand like that. Vince seems like the kind of dude that would have a lot of dudes that would wanna knock him one.

I wonder if this is part of why his character is always called "Mr. McMahon" instead of "Vince McMahon" because of this weird fixation on people not using his first name.

Expecting heel Vince to start inducting/roasting all the inductees from here forward just to leave the impression that he did nothing but attempt to bury them and sabotage their careers.
"Let me tell you about our next inductee, a meathead who made his career out of riding Hulk Hogan's coat tails. Imagine, a superstar who was so forgettable that becoming a barber was actually a step up. I would tell you about all the other awful characters this inductee has tried and failed to get over during his long and pathetic career, but we would be here all night! Brutus Beefcake, put that subway sandwich down and get your old fat ass down here!"
