They're paying about three hundred people, and only using a fraction of them on TV. I doubt paying Sasha to sit at home is going to bother them at all. On the flip side, they’d rather be paying someone to work if they’re going to keep paying them. It’s why there were practically weekly meetings with Neville about coming back even though he was in a more justified position because at the very least, their investment can be a tad justified. And why they are still trying to talk to Sasha and bring her back in the fold
Their last resort to pay someone sitting at home they know they are going to use especially with what I assume her contract being top 5 in value in regards to the women as well.

They don't need to have her in any building where they run a show. Just pay her for the rest of her contract, but tell her to stay at home. She'll have to reconcile with losing two or more years of her career. They'll have to continuing paying Sasha if they want to hold her to the contract. If they don't want to pay her to sit at home and not work, they have to release her or get her to return. It depends, they could tie her up for awhile if they got real c***y and went after her for breach of contract if she refuses to show up to work. I can’t think of any time they’ve actually done that, but it’s likely an option if they so desired

Has there ever been a situation where one company bought out the contract of a talent sitting out their time elsewhere just to free them up?

Has there even been a situation where one company bought out the contract of a talent sitting out their time elsewhere just to free them up? It happens in pro sports at least because there's some semblance of employee rights unlike the WWE

Why can't she just take notes from Ambrose, who did things the right, professional way? You get to leave but on good terms and the door open. This is just a bad look for her.

Dean was in a bargaining position she isn't in, and simply didn't re-sign, and only had a few months left. She on the other hand has well over a year, probably. It's not reasonable to hold her to that same standard.

I don't believe the whole temper tantrum story but that is the perception a lot of fans are going to hold now. There's always been minor rumblings about her attitude and potential bullying but this story is the one that put it over the top. If she's truly unhappy with her creative direction, then much like Ambrose the promise of money and such won't matter. Yeah, there were a bunch of bullying stories in NXT that never had a name attached to it... and a lot of circumstansial evidence around it points to Sasha as being the one who did it... not to mention the very obvious I'm losing face she has.

Ambrose had a few months left and a somewhat "perfect storm" for lack of better phrasing essentially put him on his path and he was done. The surgery and infection, Roman leaving and the heel turn basically burned him out in and out the ring. Despite Ambrose being unhappy he knew it was better to finish out his contract because their is no ill will with the company
Sasha on the other hand seems to have extended time left on her deal and no real end in sight for her. She can try to strong arm but ultimately WWE can just play hardball. They'd rather not have to pay her to sit home but in the end she would be on the "losing end" due to her losing time on her career

However, waiting a year a change is not ideal but she still has youth on her side as well tho your name value won't mean much in 2 years

Sure, with the benefit of hindsight it worked out for him. But he had tons and tons of mileage on him. Even considering Banks' dangerous style, Rey was still way worse off. Banks sitting out of the public eye for three plus years could hurt her.

Thing is, Rey had decades of reputation to fall back on and owned his name as well as being a merchandising demon. Sasha goes, she's not Sasha, no more "Boss" stuff, she'd have to build her gimmick up from the ground again. PAC was ok, he just has to be miserable and great in the ring, Sasha's more identifiable because of her gimmick.

I fully support Sasha in this. I don't remember, but were people on this board just as negative when Pac did it, or is it different because it's Sasha? Also, I love how they're independent contractors for healthcare and saving on tax purposes for the WWE, but the second someone wants to work elsewhere, "No you're a damn employee with a contract." That's what years of political connections and monopolization of an industry without fear of anti-trust issues gets you. I applaud Ventura for trying so many years ago. If someone wants to leave, they should be allowed to leave. Forcing people to work somewhere against their will is just wrong, no matter what you pay them. Here's the thing /HHH When you quit WWE because of a scripted title change, in a scripted 'sport' you are being petty. Sasha is being petty. Just like the Montreal Screwjob but I guess Sasha had more class to drop the titles without Vince needing to swerve Sasha and call an audible to pry it from her fingers. This is sports-entertainment. If Sasha thinks she's better than all the other women, fine. But to insist that she be given her toy or she will take her ball and go home is childish. It's not professional in the slightest. So I can't be on Sasha's side here. She signed the contract and she will incur huge penalties for being this petty about her booking "slights" (in reality Sasha is legit #3 in the pecking order of all women in all of WWE, behind Becky and Asuka I would put her, and Charlotte right after Sasha since Charlotte's lost to Bex/Sasha many times when titles were on the line and the lights were bright). How much more of a push do you need to get after being involved in so many 1st for the Women's Division? Sasha's big head needed to be deflated and I'm stoicly on WWE Creative with this one. Let her cool off if she wants to kill her buzz, while other women take over the #3 position if that's what Sasha wants to do. It's her funeral.
