Eh, I can buy he may have exaggerated it, or its spread, but I don't really have any doubt it exists. Lance Storm's also attested to seeing it, and while I am not saying he's automatically some bastion of truth, he's much less prone to carny stuff than Jericho is. If he was just trying to save face for Jericho, he could have easily ignored the question about it.
I say this, but having difficulty finding where he would have addressed it. I could be remembering wrong, but I am pretty sure he was how I first even heard about it, on one of his Q&As. Hmm.

Just did a deep web dive on Strange Kentucky People and found a long piece by Smokey Mountain Wrestling/Pro Wrestling Torch's KC O'Conner where he splits hairs about multiple things in Jericho's SMW time. EXCEPT, he verifies Strange Kentucky People is real: ukff.com/topic/136058-crud-is-jericho/page/2/"The Strange Kentucky People tape is 100 percent true. Even down to R&R and Jesus pics in the living room. Scariest thing I've ever seen."

But this being wrestling and all he probably just flat out lied. There is an anecdote he tells in one of them about being on Howard Stern. If you ever listen to the actual appearance he is talking about it is completely different then in the book. Stern and crew were goofing on Jericho the whole time.

Isn't there a Flair/Steamboat match from '89 that's better than The Trilogy? I dunno about better (that's up to everyone's opinion), but the match they had in Landover, MD was very good. It was on YouTube, at least a few years ago it was. It's just a recording of the single camera feed to the big screen at the venue that night.

What's with Jericho being a troll over the last 5-10 years? I was a fan in his WCW run and early WWF (first two runs) and he seemed pretty normal. But the last few years it's seems like he's trying to create a crazy form of new normal. I get people like tattoos but to go from no tattoos until your mid 40s with sleeves just seems odd. Plus some of the things he's done online along with his third WWE run where he returned without saying anything just screamed troll. More than that, it screamed he was out of ideas. He was once one of the most creative guys who had us on the edge of our seats his first two debuts to having nothing (literally nothing) to say or do in his last return. The funny thing was, he was at a book signing a few weeks prior to his return and told a Q&A fan that if he did come back to WWE it would have to make sense yet that return made no sense at all.

Isn't there a Flair/Steamboat match from '89 that's better than The Trilogy? There are 2 fancam shows from the same day in March 89 from Philadelphia and Landover, MD where they went 30+ minutes in both matches. I know the Landover, MD house show is on youtube, not sure about the Philly one.

David Bixenspan actually started a tweet conversation about this very subject on Twitter yesterday. twitter.com/davidbix/status/1127734185026830336The big gem I learned of was a dark match between Owen Hart and Kurt Angle. In May 1999, presumably days/weeks before Owen's death. The other gem was......wrestling related: 3 episodes of a failed Santino sitcom pitch to USA Network, circa 2009-2010. Beth Phoenix was involved, as was Koslov (as the "wacky neighbor.")

Right, but my point is, even with this person taking all the exaggerations in Jerichos' book to the task, he verified that Strange Kentucky People was real.

Jericho posted this in 2011 wonder what happened I think he tweeted in 2014 that he wasn't going to post it out of respect of the family's privacy.

Just pointing out that his books are not fully accurate by any stretch. Also, I don’t really get the obsession over Strange Kentucky People compared some of these other things. Go to rural Kentucky. I’m sure you can still find people that strange or stranger.

The BMW match was Vader vs. Jake Roberts. It was taped at the October 1996 Anaheim, CA house show. from WWE.com interview with BMW creator JACOBS: It was at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California, and the whole crowd looked at these actors from Hollywood and all in unison started chanting, “You suck!” “Cory sucks!” and “Shawn sucks!” It was a big challenge in our post-production to get out [the chants], so Hollywood became the villain of that evening. WWE.COM: That must have been a different kind of shooting day. JACOBS: It absolutely was. We were stopping the show. [The crowd] had paid to come in and watch wrestling. All of a sudden, they see a girl and a boy dancing and the boos rain down upon us! The funny thing is, I don’t think it was hostile, I think everybody was having a lot of fun. WWE.COM: Was it nerve-wracking to try and work under those circumstances? JACOBS: I wish I could say it was intimidating, but I will actually tell you that it was unintimidating because of how nice everybody was and how they really got behind what the story was we were trying to tell. Eventually, besides the fun the crowd had with us, there were cheers and applause. It was a wonderful episode and worked out well for us. WWF @ Anaheim, CA - Arrowhead Pond - October 13, 1996 (5,331) Included Brian Pillman interviewing Sunny, which led to Steve Austin coming out and stating that he will face the winner of the world title match the next time the WWF comes to Anaheim Barry Windham defeated Justin Bradshaw at 6:02 Jose Lothario pinned Jim Cornette at the 55-second mark Vader pinned Jake Roberts at 10:47 with the Vader Bomb; in Vader's corner for the match was Ben Savage (Cory), Rider Strong (Shawn), and Ethan Suplee (Frankie Stechino) from 'Boy Meets World'; footage was shot for an episode of the series in which Cory and Shawn helped Frankie bond with his dad (Vader); prior to the bout, Brother Love introduced Vader to the ring; after the bout, Love taunted Roberts for losing with Jake hitting the DDT and putting the snake on him
Steve Austin pinned Savio Vega at 10:04 with the Stone Cold Stunner Psycho Sid pinned Vader at 4:22 with the chokeslam and a legdrop WWF IC Champion Marc Mero pinned Hunter Hearst Helmsley at 11:54 with a moonsault The Grimm Twins defeated the Smoking Gunns at 4:45 The Undertaker pinned Mankind at 11:23 with the tombstone; during the bout, the top rope broke WWF Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith defeated Henry & Phinneas Godwinn at 6:39; during the match the top rope broke again WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels pinned Goldust at 21:00 with the superkick after kissing him; because of the problems with the top rope earlier in the evening, the bottom rope was moved up and the bout was wrestled without the bottom rope

I just realized, I need it to be a WWE Network special similar to the Bret Hart/Tom Magee thing if the Strange Kentucky People video is ever surfaced.

Not exactly footage but Justin Credible spoke of some photographs being taken as the wrestlers disembarked at JFK after the Plane Ride From Hell. Scott Hall being pushed in a wheelchair but these photos have never emerged.
The Droz / D'lo footage hasn't ever been seen right? Not that it should be a holy grail for anybody.

The 3 that comes to mind for me.
Owen vs. Angle dark match Taker vs. Savage Sting vs. Mean Mark Callus from WCW (Closest we will get a Sting vs.Taker match., Much like the Savage vs. Taker there is footage of it but no full match.)

It's on the same DO NOT WATCH, DESTROY, DUPLICATE, ETC. list as any other takes of Owen's fall. Closest you'll see of the former is on the original version of the Don't Try This At Home opening on DVD. "Careers ended in an instant" has someone being taken out via stretcher. That is Droz after the accident.

Probably wouldn't want to see it considering what happened, but the October 1995 ECW Arena show? Matches from it mostly exist in edited for television form, and this is because it's the show with the Cactus Jack vs. Tommy Dreamer match which ends with Terry Funk being caught on fire, leading to fans in the front row being burned as well. (while this happened, they foolishly dimmed the lights to set up the next angle: Dreamer being handcuffed in the Crow's Nest by Raven). Not sure how much appeal there'd be to seeing a wrestler on fire or fans being injured, as I said.
Apparently the show itself was destroyed because of this, though again, Hardcore TV got hacked up versions of many of the matches. For example, this was where Rey /Konnan vs. Parka/Psicosis came from; it's on one of Rey's DVD sets but it's the edited version. Scorpio vs. Rocco, all belts on the line too. I THINK this was where Mikey won the world title, but wasn't that pretty much shown in full?
One completely lost match, for what it's worth, was the "Raggedy Ass Ho Match" between Johnny Grunge and Stevie Richards (meant, loser wears a dress. Spoiler: Jason Knight ends up wearing the dress on Stevie's behalf, and likes it a bit too much. Then he eats a 911 chokeslam to cap it all off)
