We will also accept Write in Votes (although, please mention it as such) for movies not included on the list I'm getting the choices off of. However, I will not remove any from the list (I can't by that point), so, if you want to make your case why a certain movie isn't a horror film, make it. Hell, you might end up swaying a few voters from going in that direction, but I can't/won't remove it from the list or DQ it.

CHERRY FALLS is a neat post-SCREAM slasher in which the killer intentionally targets virgins, every teen at the local high school finds out and they all go to a party specifically to have sex with somebody so they won't be a target. Stars Brittany Murphy.

I’m glad to see Ginger Snaps getting so much love. I remember finding it on late night HBO back in 2001 and being pretty impressed with it.

I'm a sucker for Kevin Bacon movies and Hollow Man is a lot of fun so it gets my vote.

I can totally understand the Ginger Snaps voting though, it's a good film.

I actually have Blood: The Last Vampire. It was one of the first things I ever bought at work since it was in a DVD bargain bin a few years back. In my opinion, it was well underpriced.

Nice! I thought Ginger Snaps might win this, but I'm happy to see that it's a pretty crushing victory. It's cool....it's a great movie; definitely a gem from this decade, and the sequels are pretty solid as well. I'm glad I helped contribute to this victory.

However, there's other decent movies on here as well. The previously mentioned Cherry Falls would have been my second choice, as it's definitely a clever twist on the whole "slasher killer picks off the sexually active" trope. Very solid little Post Scream slasher, and as many as there were produced in the decade after Scream....there weren't too many REALLY good ones. This is one of those few.

Hollow Man proves that we all love Kevin Bacon, even when he's playing an invisible rapist (sorry, American Dad joke). This was, as one could guess, an attempt to modernize the Invisible Man story, and I would say that up until the end, it's pretty successful. The ending does kind of become a typical slasher movie ending, which kind of keeps this from being what it could have been. Still solid, though.

I did also like Blood: The Last Vampire, even though this one is basically only an introduction that seems almost like a pilot episode for a long running anime. There is a full length feature adaptation of this that will come out later in the decade, though.

Now we get into the kind of meh to crap part of what I've seen. Ed Gein was OK, but kind of boring and drawn out. Deranged (from the 70's) really did this whole story a HELL of a lot better, even though they weren't allowed to use the Ed Gein name. Also Meh-tastic was Bless the Child, which is kind of your typical Devil/religious horror thriller, whose main importance was that it was Kim Basinger's first major movie after winning the Oscar for her role in L.A. Confidential. Kind of a bad move for Ms. Basinger, as a better chosen role could have ensured her solid parts coming for the rest of her career. Instead, it was back to supporting roles and B movies after this lame fart of a movie.

Speaking of lame farts, Bloody Murder is a straight rip off of Friday the 13th in both a origin story of its main killer, as well as the visual look of the killer themselves (with a Leatherface chainsaw to boot). I mean, look at this shit....



I will say that the second one is a little more worth watching, but mostly because we see a young Tiffany Shepis getting nude quite often in it. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and just go watch a Friday the 13th movie instead.

Of course, Bloody Murder IS a Friday the 13th movie, quality-wise, compared to Urban Legends: The Final Cut, which commits the worst sin a horror movie can commit....it's just straight boring. Hell, even the first UL looks great compared to this, and that one was OK at best. Skip this one completely, unless you're in the mood to nap.
