I don’t understand why this wasn’t reported when she was alive? She could of actually gotton justice. I swear news sites/journalist care more about getting a reaction than actually saving people The article is three years old.

It seems like this story has been reported before.
Edit: ah it's an old article. I knew I had read this previously

It came out at a time a glut of news was coming out around the concussion lawsuit so kind of got lost in the shuffle, which makes it even worse, really, as Ashley is pretty much the only one involved who could have put 100% of the blame for her concussions on the WWE as they put her in matches with nowhere near enough training to safely do the job.
I wouldn't put it past the WWE to have done to her what they did with Ryback and his medical negligence suit, all but telling him to drop it if he wanted to keep his job. Keeping their military deal is far more important to them than the well being and safety of talent.

I remember reading this before. I honestly think this shows how much things have changed in the world, this article drops now and it is big news. Went under the radar at the time. I wonder if it will pick up steam?

The Blast reports that WWE claims that Massaro apologised to them following the collapse of the lawsuit, saying she was roped in by the lawyer, Konstantine Kyros, and said she should have contacted WWE before agreeing to take part in the lawsuit. Who knows if what she claimed in it was legitimate, or if it was one of Kyros' trumped up allegations? But the fact she apologised to WWE doesn't exactly support her trying to claim damages from them for covering up sexual assault. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/wwe-claims-ashley-massaro-expressed-202406816.html?soc_src=community&soc_trk=tw

Another question I have is why would wwe have been negligent for it, unless it was one of their employees? Now obviously them telling her not to tell authorities is pretty f***ed up, but if a marine or something sexually assaulted her that’s wouldn’t be wwe’s fault? WWE does a lot of business with USO shows and such, and the military has a very well documented sexual abuse problem. Wouldn't shock me if WWE was afraid to rock the boat, or in a slighty? more charitable stance, wanting to not subject her to the court of public opinion, especially at the time, where laying accusations at the foot of a soldier would have had a ton of media surrounding her and, odds are, assassinating the hell out of her character. Of course, odds are we won't ever know, because she's passed away and no way does WWE talk about whoever did it. Yeah, it could have been the military pressuring WWE to kill the allegations. The military doesn't exactly have the best track record in dealing with sexual assault and rape.

What is most gross (to me) is her being told to shake off her injuries. She was not an active wrestler for that long, if she was injured THAT much, she clearly was not trained fully. It seems they just threw her in the ring before she was ready and it dramatically hurt her health

Reading her affidavit absolutely shook me to my core. That Vince is an absolute piece of shit as a human being is old news now I guess, but good lord... I don't even have words for how awful this makes him look. The Jon Oliver bit was a congratulatory fluff piece in comparison. I'm gonna go throw up now.

The people I run into regularly from TV and print media routinely make me wonder what sewer they slithered out from, but there's also about 10% or so (in my local market anyway) that do solid work and aren't scumbags, and their work is important.

I'd imagine a lot of them aren't scumbags, just people who have been beaten down by the system/their bosses, and know they have to do that shit to make money.

With the amount of stuff in the affidavit it does come off as a "where there's smoke..." thing to me, but anything's possible.

The affidavit is horrifying. If true the fact that Vince McMahon said one of his talents being raped vaginally & anally while on a WWE tour was "one bad experience" that shouldn't ruin the whole tour shows what a giant piece of shit he is.

Ah shit, I didn't read that one, thought the shorter document I read was the extent of it. Good God, this is a terrifying read.

This is something that I hope really blows up. That entire read is like a horror story.
I wonder who the veteran diva that intentionally stiffed her was. I'm looking at her match history and her first feud was with Victoria...maybe her?

That was hard to read - even more considering that she was told to keep mum about it and not divulge anything so as to not "damage a relationship with the US Army".
If this is indeed true, f*** WWE, f*** Vince and f*** anyone else that was in the room and who told a rape victim to keep her mouth shut.
