(No t-shirt jokes please) As we all know, one of the most iconic moments from the first ep of Nitro was Lex Luger showing up unexpectedly. It definitely got people interested early on. Will AEW have a similar moment with a wrestler we dont expect showing up?

I'm figuring Moxley will be that role at Double or Nothing, either as Page's surprise opponent, or making an appearance to close the show.

I think the wrestler formerly known as Dean Ambrose (or Jon Moxley if you weel) will do just that. Hoping Stu Bennett shows up in AEW eventually because I think he'd be a great fit for them.

Moxley's probably their only chance of getting some sort of coup like that. Then again, a lot can happen between now and October or whenever.

What made the Luger Nitro moment work, was that no one was expecting him to show up.
If people are expecting Mox, it's not a Luger moment.
It has to be someone that generate buzz, sure. And Mox can do that. But it also has to be someone you wouldn't think would go to AEW.
People have been calling Mox showing up since PAC dropped out of DoN.

They’d need CM Punk for something like that but I don’t see it happening.

If everyone is predicting Moxley and Moxley shows up then it is not a Luger moment.

Everyone knows every behind the scenes thing these days, I doubt it’s even possible to get an actual surprise anymore.

It had to be someone huge like The Rock, Steve Austin, Batista or C.M. Punk for it to be a Luger moment.

Maybe I am misremembering, but I could have sworn AEW via one of its official social media accounts announced that Stu Bennett was with AEW, but they deleted it. He's only really done hosting and GM type work since leaving WWE, at least for the most part.

The internet and the dirtsheets being more accessible than ever makes it virtually impossible. Only way it's possible is if someone deliberately violates their WWE contract to appear, which being it's 2019 and nothing matters I don't think that's as outside the realm of possibility as happening in, let's say, 2014. Like, if Sasha was all of a sudden there in the ring, I'd bet even if people had seen her at the airport or even at the venue they wouldn't think she'd make an AEW debut. And then if she does - lUGER MOMENT.
