That SERIOUS AND EMOTIONALLY TORMENTED promo he did was so bad that I think I spent the majority of it laughing. Like, wow. Whoever let that get on TV, I f***ing love you.

First thing that came to mind... That said, he’ll probably be off again once he counts the lights in Saudi Arabia. He’s literally the most disposable of disposable opponents here.

Didn't see it, but reading through the live thread it seems opinions are split on the promo he cut. As a post-2015 fan of Dolph, split is great.

I still maintain that the beat down and the subsequent promo was some of the most compelling stuff I’ve seen from him in ages. Hopefully it isn’t just for Super Showdown, but, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was a one a done deal.
Then again, they keep touting that this’ll “exceed” Mania, so.

The content was actually good. The delivery, however, was TOO weepy.

I enjoyed surprisingly. The best down was the best one in WWE since Hunter played out Bryan on Raw years back and I thought the promo was good. The fake crying was a bit of a fail but I liked it. Not exactly looking forward to the match but tonight was good.

I dug the emotion he put into the promo because you can tell part of him really thinks that he should have been in that spot. What I didn't like about it though is how he kept pausing what he said which allowed him to get clowned. The crying happened and I'm not blaming him for that but shit, the crowd walked all over him.
His beatdown was dope tho, all the way through. He needed that edge.

They should add his whiny "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!" to the beginning of his theme song.

That was his best promo in years, maybe ever. It sucks that so many people have permanently written him off but with how WWE has booked him for years I guess I get it. I liked the angle and think they’ll have a great match.

I liked it.
He played the regret, jealousy and self pity as opposed to only being angry.

Kofi finally broke out of his “endless series with Dolph Ziggler” to become WWE Champion... and he proceeds to feud with Dolph Ziggler.
