Even Impact knows how it's s'posed to be done, why can't ROH get it right?

Even Impact knows how it's s'posed to be done, why can't ROH get it right? Naturally, Velvet Sky's been chiming in about it, making comments about "oh the fan will take to twitter to try to play the victim", and it's just nauseating knowing that no one in the company has the sense to pull her and Angelina aside and say, "please stop making a laughingstock of this company and let this blow over".

Matt Jackson (the wrestler, not the former Jeopardy champion) seems to be a fan of the spit victim: "Good Guy" Matt Jackson is a wise businessman. He's good at finding those people on social media that have a legit gripe elsewhere (see: Sadie Gibbs; TDE GIFs) and turning it into something beneficial for AEW's PR. Not to say he isn't actually a nice guy (the bad stories about him and Nick are older ones that can't be repeated here), but he's smart to connect with what the majority fanbase would side with. That's certainly possible, but I think there might be some backhanded intention in this tweet too, on the chance Matt through his time in TNA and then in ROH came to really detest Bully Ray, or the clear indication of what he was starting to do with ROH. Wouldn't surprise me if there was some stuff we didn't know about in the later days of their ROH run and that this is less about AEW PR and more about sticking a finger up to Bully Ray by taking his side.

There should be a bubble between the wrestlers and the fans that way no one gets their feelings hurt.

There should be a bubble between the wrestlers and the fans that way no one gets their feelings hurt. For decades, there was one. It was called performers never "selling" for anything the fans say or do, because getting a reaction from the crowd is their job. Some still have that mentality, but around the time social media became a thing, wrestlers began allowing fans to be on an "equal level" with them, responding to nonsense on Twitter, etc. The answer to all of this would've been to just no sell the dude, return to the locker room, get changed, and go to the next town.

Yep Yep Yep I agree! They fuel it. Look at Taya getting in dudes face in TNA. Just intensifying the situation because she can and she will look good to the majority no matter what she does. Friggin stupid. Losing hope in wrestling as a fan really. And I'm sick of hearing about what so and so said on twitter or what wrestler is dating who etc. Also though, I went to a juggalo championship wrestling show some time ago and it was allowed and encouraged to throw cups into the ring. Friend threw a cup at Raven. It was awesome. lol

A week since the incident. Bully and Mandy are going to get away with it unscathed.
ROH is full on clown shoes now.

f***ing wrestlers are pansys these days I wouldn’t say they’re all pansies, but most wrestlers see themselves as basically stage performers now. And honestly, the majority of fans treat it as performance art rather then pseudo sport now. So the behavioural expectations of both fans and performers by both has changed compared to even 15 years ago. Heels can be jerks, but not assholes (ie the old Bubba Dudley stuff) and fans can boo and hiss but not make verbal personal attacks. So when you get that dude that that’s drunk and acting like he’s in the Dawg Pound it doesn’t fly anymore in most crowds. It’s just how the business has changed. Personally, if I were a heel and someone called me a fat f***** f*** and threatened to rape my grandmother I’d think I was the best heel around. But that’s not really the prevailing attitude now. I don’t have a dog in the fight, I understand both sides of things. EDIT: And when I say see themselves as stage performers, I don’t mean they don’t consider themselves wrestlers. Just that they don’t live the gimmick 24/7 like in the past. Did not mean it as a negative in any way

F***ing hell. Dude, when people cross lines, you don't come to others' defense on the matter, you don't have others come to your defense, you don't ask "Hey man, what's your issue?", you don't spit on them, you don't pieface them, you don't bring them backstage to intimidate them with a lecture on "being a fan". You get security and you get them out of there. How is that so hard for these idiots to understand?

The Taylor interview confirms that ROH is a Bully Ray vanity project now. What a difference a year makes.

Like I said, I don't fault Ray for wanting to back up Velvet (for any & every reason he would want to back up Velvet). The 'bring him backstage' mess still feels like someone's about to be whacked, Tony Soprano style.

The Taylor interview confirms that ROH is a Bully Ray vanity project now. What a difference a year makes. Yep, their last statement was just a way to buy them time and hope that most fans would move on and forget about it. I am ready for this company to die now. I feel bad for some of the talent, but they could go somewhere that would actually use them to their potential and not take a back seat to Matt Taven and Bully Ray.
