Greatest franchise of all time. Seriously, it's so ridiculous, like any complaints about the franchise just seem hilarious to me. It's a franchise that gave Idris superpowers, they parachuted cars, and Brian and Dom catapulted their cars from building to building. This stopped being a series to be taken seriously about 4 or 5 movies ago.

My favorite Facebook/YouTube comments about this franchise: "They should have stopped after the first one." "I wish it could go back to the racing."
Regarding the former, you're too late for that. Just don't watch the movies. As for the latter, it was never really about racing. People act like the racing was essential to the plot. Tokyo Drift actually had racing in the plot. Also, people complain about there being too many movies, but I don't hear people bitching about Mission: Impossible having a lot of movies or even Star Wars. Hell, the Star Trek series had a lot of movies, if you consider the Next Generation movies (From Generations to Nemesis) to be a part of the same franchise as from The Motion Picture to The Undiscovered Country. Yes, Generations had Kirk and Spock in it, so in some ways, it was Star Trek VII.
As for this movie, I cannot wait!

This stopped being a series to be taken seriously about 4 or 5 movies ago. The fifth movie is arguably the last time it tried to stay grounded in any kind of reality, though driving a bank vault through the streets of Rio de Janeiro does strain credulity somewhat. In the end it was still just a low-stakes heist movie. Once the sixth movie came around we got a tank chase on a freeway and Dom turning into Superman to save Letty from being splattered, another chase involving a cargo plane and the world's longest runway, and the first involvement of international terrorists.

I'm holding out for time travel. Dom: Don’t matter if you go back in time by an inch or a mile....Time-Travelings Winning... Letty: What? Dom: ..Faaamii- Letty: no, about-.. Dom: *sips Corona and vanishes* I never knew how much I wanted this until now

I admire this franchise. They know it's dumb but fun action shit, but they embrace it, and that's why it does well. They have no trace of pretentiousness.

Franchise leaped so far beyond its tropes that it quit being stupid and became amazing. Can’t wait for this!

They understand that people just love ridiculous action movies. You know going in that you're getting 2 hours of complete insanity. Sit back, shovel that popcorn into your mouth and enjoy

Don’t forget gratuitous shots of scantily-clad women’s behinds I definitely enjoyed Fast & Furious/F5/6/7 way more than F8. I’m down with them being what they are but F8 felt like a slog, and Hobbs & Shaw wasn’t as funny/fun as I thought (sans Idris) ..so here’s hoping Wan’s return and Johns incusion add a boost to things.

My favorite thing about the Fast movies is their sincerity.
There’s no yuk yuk nudging elbow boy is this dumb comedy moments where the characters acknowledge what’s happening and wink.
It plays it straight and that works so much better

Personally it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled a Letty with Han's return. We never saw Letty die either viola she came back into the series.
We never saw Han actually die in the crash.

That's probably the case, implausible as it sounds since he's clearly trapped in the car seconds before it blows up. By the same logic, we never saw Giselle actually die either, though I suspect they'll have a much harder time trying to get Gal Gadot back than Sung Kang.

The thing is that is the difference between Lettys death and Hans
Letty we don't really see her die and you watch the scene and you can be all like...yea I believe she could still be alive with how all of that played out.
Han on the other hand? naw sorry ..he gets smashed by another car...was trapped in inside crumpled car as the fuel was spilling out and of course Shaw on the scene ready to kill him and then the car blows up....oh and this is in the middle of the biggest intersection in japan.
I know this series is implausable ...but Han being still alive would be too far even for this series.

Han probably crawled out, jumped away, blah blah.. I mean there’s tons of examples to cite but The Rock literally destroys a cast on his arm using sheer will & muscle. There’s nothing they can do at this point that I’d think would take people out of it. It’s a running joke, but fans are dying to see Space shit included lol. Also Han’s character has remained insanely popular over the years. In the last year I can’t tell you how many times I saw the sentiment online “Bring back Han you cowards”, so, I honestly think it’s a smart call more than anything.

It's a shame Burt Reynolds is dead, he would have been perfect for a cameo in one of these films.

Maybe Han was over a manhole cover and climbed out into the sewers before the car exploded. Fast and Furious/Ninja Turtles crossover potential.

I remember posters talking about how the studios should just do a crossover between Fast and Furious and Transformers. And just like that, your idea could totally work. There's something elastic about the F&F franchise, you could fit it with any other intellectual property and it would somehow work.

It's a shame Burt Reynolds is dead, he would have been perfect for a cameo in one of these films. Being in the Epic Rap Battle of History Patreon Discord, I always suggest Dominic Toretto Vs The Bandit when they ask for suggestions. You're not alone in wishing he was still here to be The Bandit for a new generation and pass the torch. That being said, seconds in, the brother trope was obvious, and I LOVE IT!!! Bring on all the tropes! Give me Gisele's second stepcousin once removed out for revenge, or all the one night stands Roman had coming back to get their child support, and I'd still watch. I love that Cena is the villain. Sadly, this is the closest we'll get to seeing him as a heel. You know they're just waiting for this to hurry up and be released so they can get to work on the next opus which I believe will revolve around Roman (numerals), which will be titled FX.
