The ELP/Eagles feud probably adds more interest from Europe and Australia than it would in the states. But unlike Kenny/Cody that was done for the wrong reasons and didn't really add to other stories, this one has layers and feeds into other elements, especially Ospreay. It's one of the reasons I loved the BOSJ so much this year. It was more than just the jr. heavyweights doing flippy stuff, there was some great storytelling, especially with Eagles and Phantasmo. Conceptually, the Cody/Kenny stuff made sense, but the followup, yikes. Maybe if Jay had stepped into Bullet Club sooner, it'd have been better, but Tama stunk up the joint and looked like a moron turning on the only people in the stable who had any title belts. He was simply not equipped to be an ace. I do think that if things had managed to go forward without the concern about the Elite leaving, there's every chance White would've joined the Firing Squad and been a major factor. In fairness to Tama, I don't think they ever really saw him as an ace for the stable; he's always been angled more to be like the group's new Karl Anderson.

First few names announced are Will Ospreay, Sho, Yoh, Dragon Lee, Jushin Thunder Liger, Caristico and El Phantasmo, which I guess confirms he's actually signed with New Japan as the reason he moved to the UK in the first place was that he was having problems travelling to the US from Canada.

Liger has been announced as competing in all three shows.
Tickets are also selling well with San Fransico sold out and Tacoma nearly as well.

TJP has been announced as an entrant. I honestly keep forgetting that TJP even exists. He should have eaten the dreadlock.

SHO, Dragon Lee and TJP are the only official entrants in the Super J Cup so far- the total field will be 16.
Liger is wrestling on all 3 shows but is not actually in the tournament itself.

Caristico is a surprise announcement. Wouldn't think they'd get him Casistico is the Mistico that was the first Sin Cara, right? Out of curiosity, how is he viewed in general by the Mexican fans? I know he was a huge star before WWE, but did a bad WWE run hurt him, or is he still a mega-star?

This is news to me and it's hilarious. Before WWE. I don't remember the specifics, but it was either that Mistico threatened Del Rio with a gun in the locker room of a Mexican show, or one of Mistico's entourage was waving a gun around. In any case, he was big leaguing Del Rio, and come WWE, Del Rio held a grudge, one that Hunico I think also had against Mistico, or else he was pissed at him for unrelated reasons. Del Rio and to a lesser extent Hunico have well-documented anger issues, but in this case, it seems like Mistico's arrogance didn't endear him to pretty much anyone, so guys were more liable to side with them than him.

He did, but as the saying goes in wrestling, you never truly retire, unless your body gives out completely making it impossible to work Red I thought retired due to nagging injuries, but I hope this means we get to see him on some grander stages before he really calls it quits. Would love to see him have an AEW appearance too. Dude's one of the unsung high flying innovators of his generation, dudes like The Young Bucks owe a lot to him honestly.
